British Columbia Probate Kit - 4th EditionEverything you need to probate or administer an estateWritten in simple, non-technical language, the book demonstrates how to apply for and obtain letters of probate or administration and transfer assets. Step-by-step instructions are given in the book and all the required forms are included on the enclosed CD-ROM (in MS Word and PDF formats). This kit also contains Administration Forms, which are required when the deceased did not have a valid will. When someone has died, it must be proven by a legal process that a will has been validly made and executed. This book demonstrates in easy-to-understand terms how anyone faced with this difficult situation can probate an estate without consulting a lawyer.
This new fourth edition is divided into easy-to-understand sections about probate (with a will), administration (without a will), and administration (with a will that is invalid or incomplete). It features a restructured format for easier understanding of the different procedures for Probate and Administration. Includes the most up-to-date forms and text to reflect the new Wills, Estates and Succession Act.

So You’ve Been Appointed Executor - 3rd Edition
The executor’s job is much more involved than you might initially believe. At its simplest, the executor’s role involves documenting assets of the deceased, paying the bills for the estate, and distributing assets to the rightful beneficiaries. These in themselves are not simple tasks, and there are many more to come. So You’ve Been Appointed Executor gives you an introduction to the predictable and unavoidable issues that each and every executor will face regardless of the size of the estate. This book not only explains what you need to know when you are appointed executor, but it also helps you choose the best executor for your estate. Learn about the eight duties of an executor and how they apply to the estate to which you have been appointed. Also included is information about various estate experts and resources available to you to help make your job as executor easier.

About UsFor more than 44 years, Self-Counsel Press has published high-quality business and reference books and forms kits, written in clear, easily understood language.
Our titles provide readers with reliable information authored by experts. We have two popular business series, Start & Run and Business 101, along with a range of reference books covering topics such as eldercare, personal finance, professional development, immigration, and writing skills.
Our Legal PerspectiveSince 1971, Self-Counsel Press has been delivering the finest do-it-yourself legal books available. You may have seen other books out there that are merely approved by lawyers. That is not good enough for us.
Self-Counsel’s legal titles are written by lawyers who specialize in the subjects about which they write, and who keep informed and up-to-date on changes in legislation so that our books are always current.
Laws are complicated and always changing. Why trust anyone other than a lawyer with your important legal matters?
