Reach Out & ServeOthers need your help!
Some families have discovered an extraordinary secret: when they set aside their own concerns and
-
focus attention on the needs of others, they grow deeper in love and in harmony witheach other. And that renews their ability to tackle their own struggles. Give it a try. Here are some starter ideas. See the Library for lots more.Friend in Need (Just for Kids) - ideas to help someone who needs you.Warm Hearts & Feet (Young Family) - gather socks and hygiene supplies forshelters.Standing Up for Others (Teen Family) - simple ways to advocate for others inneed.Help to Make New Friends (Young Adult) - make new friends by volunteering.Resolutions (Adult/Couple) - resolve to serve. Just do it!

The Missional Church(this class will start Part II on Feb. 9)Part II: Three Missional ConversationsFebruary 9-March 2, 2014, Room 111
Many have heard the term "missional" but have only a vague idea ofwhat it means, let alone why it might be important to them. But whatdoes it actually mean? What does a missional church look like andhow does it function? Two leading voices in the missional movementprovide an accessible introduction, showing readers how the movementdeveloped, why it's important, and how churches can become moremissional. Introducing the Missional Church demonstrates that ours is a post-Christian culture, making it necessary for church leaders to think likemissionaries right here at home. Focusing on a process that allows achurch to discern its unique way of being missional, it guides readerson a journey that will lead them to implement a new set of missionalpractices in their churches. The authors demonstrate that livingmissionally is about discerning and joining God's work in the world inorder to be a witness to God's kingdom on earth.
