CCS Middle and High School is hosting a fun filled pizza lunch for all of our new Middle and High School Students.
Each student is introduced to their very own CCS Mentor.
CCS Mentor is in the same grade and will serve as a guide around campus during the schedule walk through.
CCS Mentors will help our new students to settle into life at Concord Christian School. They will invite you to lunch, introduce you to other students .

Arrows and Graduates
I like to shoot my bow and arrows. I have for years. As I have grown as an archer I have learned that arrows can be very different. Yes, I shoot a modern bow with modern equipment. But even with fancy gear my arrows will still fly differently.
As a student pastor each year I have the blessing of commissioning another class to serve Jesus in their next stage of life. Our church desires to partner with parents for many key moments in your child’s life. One of the biggest is their graduation from high school.
Did you know that the Bible compares our children to arrows? Check out Psalm 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.
As an archer what I can tell you is that arrows fly differently, as I mentioned before. It’s like they have personalities. Many archers will name or number their arrows so they know how to shoot them with their “personality”. I can only imagine how archers would have shot their bow and arrows 3,000 years ago. Talk about learning your equipment!
In Psalm 127 when Solomon speaks of protection and blessing of the Lord I believe he is also reminding us of what the archer knows - every arrow has a personality. To get that arrow to hit the intended location the archer must practice and learn how to shot the arrow according to its’ personality.
As parents, God has given us targets to shoot for. We prepare our children for the moment of graduation and ultimately the rest of their lives. How do we do this? We start from the beginning with our little arrows and learn how God has made them. What is their person-ality that God has gifted them with? As parents we should identify with the archer and practice with our arrows A LOT! How did they fly? How do we need to adjust and/or cor-rect? A great archer practices shooting his arrows thousands of times in preparation for when it really counts (either in battle or hunting). As parents we are preparing every day and every year for big moments like graduation all for God’s glory!
So my encouragement to you parents is this – practice! Practice every day with your kids. We are preparing them for graduation and beyond.
We are preparing them for real life with Jesus!
