The small intestine is 250 square meters- about the size of a tennis court.
THE SMALL INTESTINE’S ROLE IN DIGESTION The small
intestine absorbs nutrients and water from our food and drink.
The leftovers are sent to the large intestine.
ENZYMES IN THE SMALL INTESTINE Amylase- Breaks down carbohydrates. Protease- Breaks down proteins. Lipase- Breaks down fats.
