Vanuatu

Vanuatu is located in south Pacific Ocean, west of Fiji near New Guinea. Vanuatu was first inhabited by Melaneian people but then Vanuatu was discovered by Europeans in 1606.

What belief background underpins the lifestyle of this community?

At law women have equal rights, however Vanuatu’s traditional culture can at times conflict with this. There have been ongoing issues relating to the prison and detention centre conditions in Vanuatu.

What are the work and leisure pursuits of the members of this community?

Vanuatu unique things are the tourist attractions with hundreds of things to do over there. A lot of the tourist attraction are from the nature and shows how they life simply.

Describe the customs, traditions and practices which make this community unique

The community has a even rights in gender but mainly the women are the cooks and look after the family has the dad goes for to work and get money of the family.

Describe and explain the members' rights and responsibilities within this community.

I want be attracted to this community as I have seen how they life so simply and have so many attractions for tourist that would feel welcome to join this community. The only reason I wouldn’t live there is because of the few problems they have.

Vanuatu has a few problems but have these 50 or 10 years they can probably live off all the money they get from tourists and Vanuatu with the money with get rid of the problems and have improvements. These improvements should allow Vanuatu to life though the 50 years.
