The BX-ESL end switch module eXtended Linecommunicates
the position of the actuation rod using an internal light barrier.
The state active/passive is reported to the FAS and indicated
on the BX-ESL with a LED.
It meets the specifications of SecuriLine eXtended for operation
on the ring circuit of the SecuriFire fire detection system.
Description
The BX-ESL can be connected to the SecuriLine eXtended ringcircuit of the SecuriFire 1000/2000/3000 fire detection systems.
Typical applications include sprinkler monitoring and blocking
equipment.
The BX-ESL measures the movement of an actuation rod by
means of an infrared light barrier. This realises the function as
limit switch.
On the front, a multi-colour LED can indicate an end position of
the rod in either red or yellow.
Addressing and assigning BX-ESL parameters is performed with
PC software via the fire alarm control panel.
The BX-ESL includes a short-circuit isolator. In the event of wire
breakage or short-circuit this functionality ensures that the fault
is localised and that operation of the ring circuit remains fullyfunctional.
The BX-ESL is built into a plastic switch housing. The cables are
led in through PG screw fittings.
The SecuriLine eXtended is connected via the X1-X4 screw ter-
minals.

ProgrammingSecuriFire software documentation is planned for programming and
planning.
Power requirementFor mixed operation of detectors and modules on the ring circuit, it is
important to know that the BX-ESL has the power consumption of
about 4 detectors. This reduces the number of connectable detectorsby 4 for each BX-ESL in use. A maximum of 32 BX-ESLs are permit-
ted per ring circuit.
A tool is available for calculating the maximum possible ring length
and the maximum number of participants.
