NSS UNIT-BVRITH FOR THE PEOPLE

Name of the Program:Diabetic Camp, Dental Check-up & General Health Camp

Date: 23-04-2016

Brief Report of the Event: On behalf of NSS unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE in

coordination with Apollo Hospitals organized a Free Diabetic Camp, Dental Check-up &

General Health Camp at our campus on 23rd April 2016. The camp was conducted with

greater focus on the Health Care and to facilitate the medical needs of the community. 40

NSS Volunteers were used to coordinate the camp activities in guiding the public and to

assist the Medical Officers. The general check up also included DRA (Diabetic Risk

Assessment) that can predict the extent of diabetic levels in future. The faculty, students and

residents of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar people availed the facility.

Name of the Program:World Earth Day celebrations

Date: 22-04-2016


Brief Report of the event:

As a part of World Earth Day celebrations, NSS-BVRITH conducted a special morning

assembly to create awareness about the necessity of conserving the beauty of mother earth.

The Theme of this Earth Day during 2016 was “Caring Mother Earth”. The NSS Volunteers

around 40 members were encouraged to volunteer for this programme. Various events were

organized including elocution, essay writing, painting and plantation etc. Dr V. Madhavi,

NSS In-Charge coordinated this event.

Name of the Program:First-Aid Training session by Indian Redcross Society

Date: 30-01-2016


Brief Report of the Event: First aid is immediate help provided to a sick or injured person

until professional help arrives. It is concerned not only with physical injury or illness but also

with other initial care, including psycho-social support for people suffering emotional distress

from experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. To create awareness on such important

topic BVRIT Hyderabad National Services Scheme unit organized aFirst-Aid Training

Program on 30 January 2016 in association with Red Cross Society. In this program the entire

faculty members of BVRITH participated and learnt how to give first aid when there is a

problem of burning, suicide, heart attack, snake bite orsunstroke.Highly experienced casualty

doctors gave visual explanation about what to do when a person is severely injured and how

to take measures not to make it more severe.

Name of the Program:Session on Gynic problems of girls

Date: 11-01-2016


Brief Report of the Event:

Nowadays almost every woman suffers from a gynecological problem at some point or the

other. In most cases these disorders are mild and easily treatable, but some gynecological

problems can have serious implications and affect their fertility and quality of life. To create

awareness about gynaecological issues of teenage girls, BVRIT Hyderabad National Services

Scheme unit had organized a session on Gynic Problems of Girls by Dr.Sudha Rani on 11th

January 2016. In this session 220 students participated.





Name of the Program:Orphanage cum Old-Age Home Visit

Date: 31-12-2015



On behalf of NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE, 54 volunteers of NSS visited

Vivekananda SevaSangham –an Orphanage- cum- Old- age Home on 31st December

2015and distributed old clothes, fruits and snacks to old people and children on the occasion

of New Year Celebrations. The volunteers cooked food for them, served them and spent a

whole day with them.

Name of the Program:Free Health Camp

Date: 15-10-2015


Brief Report of the Event: BVRIT Hyderabad National Services Scheme Unit organized a

Free Health Camp in the institute in association with Care Hospital, Nampally and “Mana

Cheyutha- Public Charitable Trust” on the occasion of 95th Birth Anniversary of Late

PadmasriDr.B.V. Raju, the Founder Chairman, Sri Vishnu Educational Societyon 15th

October 2015. The teams arrived at the location at 9.00 a.m. and the camp was inaugurated

with a welcome speech by Dr K V N Sunitha, Principal of BVRIT Hyderabad and with the

presentation of shawl to the doctors by the NSS members.A public announcement was made

and door to door communication done by our volunteers to inform people to avail free health

services. The response was excellent and about 360 people in and around BVRITH had the

free B.P., Diabetes, E.C.G. tests etc. done and also supplied free medicine. This health check

up camp proved very successful and created a harmonious environment in the community.

The NSS volunteers also discussed about the avoidance of open defecationwith Rajiv Gandhi

Nagar people.

Name of the Program:Blood Donation Camp

Date: 14-10-2015



On behalf of NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE organized a Blood Donation Camp in

the institute in association with Thalassemia & Sickle Cell Society of Hyderabad. The Camp

started exactly at 09.30 a.m. and continued until the 2.00 p.m. All the students as well as

outsiders gave an excellent response for the Blood Donation Camp and Thalassemia Testing.

The NSS volunteers took all the necessary precautions to provide complete safety to the

donors. Around 87 units were collected and donated to the blood bank. With the cooperative

efforts of the Principal Dr. K V N Sunitha, NSS incharge, Dr. V Madhavi, Faculty members,

students, blood bank members and NSS volunteers, the event turned out to be a huge success.

Name of the Program:NSS Day Celebrations

NSS was formally launched on 24th September 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of

Nation. Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day. BVRITH celebrated

the NSS Foundation Day by organizing a function, which was inaugurated by the college

Principal, Dr KVN Sunitha in presence of Dr Ch.Sunil Kumar, Vice Principal, DrV.Madhavi,

NSS Programme Officer and other faculty members.On the occasion, NSS volunteers

presented a patriotic song, a skit and also spoke on the present evils in the society. Dr KVN

Sunitha gave a detailed view of NSS and advised the students to become role models in the

society by making awareness about the social evils. He said that NSS Volunteers should

involve themselves in the development of nation in general and college in particular.





Name of the Program: Distribution of Clay Ganesh Idols

Date: 11-09-2015



Volunteers of NSS BVRITH distributed Clay Ganesha idols to BVRITH Faculty and

residents of Rajivgandhi Nagar, Bachupally here on Friday, urging people to celebrate the

Ganesh Chaturthi festival in an eco-friendly way.People passing through this route were in

for a pleasant surprise when young volunteers stopped them and handed tiny clay

Ganeshaidols.The main theme of this event was to create awareness about the pollution

caused byusing idols made of Plaster of Paris on Ganesh Chaturthi. The NSS team also

educated them about the effects and the harm caused by the Plaster of Paris idols.

Name of the Program: AIRTEL HYDERABAD MARATHON

Brief Report of the Event: The Flagship event of Hyderabad Runners Society and a Signature

Event of Hyderabad City is held on the last Sunday of August every year. It started in 2011 with

an aim to spread awareness about running, active lifestyle and to bring the city together for one

cause. This year the Marathon was conducted with the Motto of “Gift your Old Shoes a new

Life”. Donate your gently worn out or new shoes of any kind to people who may have never

even owned a pair. On this occasion, as part of our responsibility the NSS team collected old

and new shoes from the students of BVRITH. The collected shoes were donated to the needy

people.

Name of the Program:INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS At Govt Primary School

Date: 15-08-2015



In connection with 69thIndependence Day Celebrations, NSS team of around 36 volunteers

went to Government Primary School which is located in Nizampet Village. As part of

celebrations, volunteers conducted various games organized for school children and also

conducted cultural programmes focused on the importance of education. Dr K V N Sunitha,

Principal, BVRIT Hyderabad distributed prizes to school children.

Brief Report of the Event: August 15 is a great day and a proud moment for every Indian.

In connection with 69thIndependence Day Celebrations, a parade was organized by NSS

team of BVRIT Hyderabad. The celebration was inaugurated with a flag hoisting by principal

and delightful and inspirational words by the Principal and faculty members. The students

and faculty participants decided to follow the quote “You must be the change you want to

see in the World”. NSS volunteers sang patriotic songs portraying the richness of our

country.





Name of the Program:PLANTATION PROGRAM IN AND AROUND BACHUPALLY

Date: 28-07- 2015


Brief Report of the Event: A Tree Plantation Program was held on 28th July 2015 at

8:45am. The main aim of this program was to spread and create awareness to protect the

environment from degrading. The college students of all years actively participated in the

program. Dr. K V N Sunita (Principal), Dr.V.Madhavi (NSS Co-Ordinator), faculty of

various departments and students went to plant sapling in Bachupally area including premises

of BVRIT Hyderabad. The residents of Bachupally welcomed and supported the endeavour

wholeheartedly. The event was ended by taking an oath to prevent the environment from

pollution by contributing little in our daily life. The plantation program was a huge success

empowering students with substantial knowledge of environment and plants and

simultaneously enhancing their social skills.
