When the bigger-is-better mindset is not in your home-

buying fi nancial cards, there are plenty of services to make your small space feel larger. Indeed, many of the compa-nies making these products are enjoying a boom thanks to the trend of building smaller, more aff ordable condos.

Bosa Properties is one of the groups meeting the challenge head on, having introduced its BosaSPACE concept a year and a half ago at its Alumni Tower development in Surrey’s University District. The idea’s second iteration is currently on display in its RiverSky proj-ect in New Westminster.

“We created BosaSPACE because we saw a need in the market,” said Daryl Simpson, Bosa Properties senior vice-president. “We were feeling frustrated with the compression of suite sizes which was a function of the demand for smaller, more aff ordable homes. We wanted to give people more function-ality so that a 500-squre-foot apart-ment would feel and perform like an 800-square-foot one.”

Space and FunctionBosa worked on the concept for over

a year, meeting with local and European designers, suppliers and architects. An extendable table can be a modest two-seat counter/desk/prep station or pull out to seat up to eight for dinner.

The “SleepTHEATRE” conceals a sofa or guest bed behind the TV. A pantry sys-tem hides a pull-down ironing board and storage along with a wine rack.

“People don’t have to buy as much furniture,” said Simpson. “For younger buyers, that helps with the aff ordability pressures. We’ve also worked with buy-ers who have the means to spend more but want to consume less.”

South Cambie is growing up and truly coming into its own. This former sleepy neighbourhood is a cultural melting pot waiting to be discovered. With a variety of upscale, bohemian and chic boutiques, pubs, bars and restaurants, it’s no wonder young pro-fessional urbanites want in.

This is where you will discover one of the most exciting new boutique condo developments to hit Cambie Village - The Spot.

The Spot is a boutique-style eight-storey glass and concrete building comprising of 125 residences, ranging from 480 to 1600 square feet of beau-tifully appointed living.

“This is a stunning location and the building’s architecture has a real urban pulse to it,” says Lily Korstanje, managing director Magnum Projects. “The Spot gives younger buyers an opportunity to live in Vancouver.”

This limited collection of contem-porary studio, one, two and three bedroom homes will feature 8’6” high ceilings, gorgeous wide plank engi-neered hardwood throughout the liv-ing area and high end carpeting in the bedrooms.

The luxury and beauty doesn’t stop there in these elegant residences: there’s central air conditioning, over-sized windows to take in the amazing

cityscape, mountain and ocean views, and open-concept gourmet kitchens resplendent with quartz countertops and backsplashes and European stain-less steel appliances.

Spacious patios, some up to 1000 square feet, invite outdoor entertain-ing at its best. Then, when you are hosting a larger soiree, grab a bottle of wine or a few craft beers and head up to the private rooftop deck to soak in the spectacular sights.
