Dateline: March 19, 2005. New Orleans
The 15th Annual BMCNO British Car Day was held at Delgado Community
College on a spectacular day where the weather cooperated to the fullest
extent. On the field were 139 British cars from a total of 13 states. The
longest distance driven was 1050 miles in a 1964 MGB, hailing from Mary-
land. By all accounts, this was the most successful show that we have ever
held, not by numbers alone, but by quality of cars. We conversed with most
of the British Car owners, and all thought that it was a great show.
Please revisit us next year for Car Day # 16, and bring more friends. A list-
ing of BMCNO Car Day winners follows in this ”Special Car Show Edi-
tion”...
I would like to thank the many volunteers that helped make this show a
great success; without them it just couldn't happen. Special thanks to Bill
Breithoff for assembling a team of professionals to insure another success-
ful Car Day. Many visitors expressed thanks, for being genuinely wel-
comed, and the feeling that they were appreciated by BMCNO. They were
greeted by our parking team, followed through with registration, the best
goody bag around, car classification, voting and the banquet finale. Special
thanks also to vendors who were invited, including CCC, Little British Car
Co. , and the Daughters of the British Empire. Thanks also to Bill Harris
who solicited sponsors and donations well in advance of the show. The do-
nated items were given out throughout the day, and at the banquet Satur-
day night.
Volunteers and a “can-do” attitude make it happen.
Please help us next year when planning begins in September.
Fresh faces are needed and always welcome!!

From Motor Sports Magazine
Travels with the EMC by Gene Johnston, Jackson,
MS. "[Everyone] made it back home...from a great
show held on the grounds of Delgado College March
18-19. The Friday night reception was great company
and great food as always in N.O. Saturday was a
dream come true weather-wise, and show quality-
wise."
New Orleans British Car Day by Bill Moseley,
SABCC. “The 2005 New Orleans British Car Day, on
Saturday March 19th, was an enjoyable event in keep-
ing with the British Motoring Club of New Orleans tradition of putting on a fine show. The location at the
Delgado College campus featured a grassy site with plenty of shade trees. ... The awards dinner following
the show provide both good food and good entertainment and they had some great door prizes.“
New Orleans Show Shines by Jim Dougherty, Mardi Gras Ts “The show itself is held on the lawn in front
of the Delgado College University Center. This venue is tree-lined and grassy, making for an attractive and
really comfortable show location. ... Not long after parking your car in its designated class you're given the
opportunity / responsibility of voting for the best entries. Voting can be diabolical. There were either many
cars in a class or hardly any. The car gods frequently smile on the rare and unusual and this was no excep-
tion. ... That evening the awards banquet and raffle were held, wrapping up a picture-perfect event. “
