Effective Bridge Relationship Management is critical to safe navigation, whether under pilotage, in coastal waters or on the high seas. Professionals from across the marine sector have identified failings in Bridge Relationship Management as a common cause of accidents and near-misses. These failings compromise the safety of life, property and the environment and represent a significant cost to the shipping and the marine insurance industries. To help identify and address these issues, The Nautical Institute (North East Branch), in partnership with North of England P&I Association (North), is dedicating the eighteenth in their seminar series ‘The Mariner and The Maritime Law’ to examining all aspects of Bridge Relationship Management, in light of recent developments in technology, manning and training. The seminar will also mark the launch of North’s latest loss prevention publication, a new edition of ‘COLREGS – A Guide to Good Practice’. On 9th and 10th November 2012, marine professionals from across the world will gather in Newcastle for the latest in this acclaimed seminar series. We hope you can join us. To register to attend visit: www.nine.org.uk and complete our online booking form.
