¡Bienvenidos!

Hola!! Winter time is here! In Spanish we are excited to keep working with the little

ones on proper nouns, adjectives, types of sentences and literary elements. While in

Middle school we will be studying "La familia" and adjectives. During this month we

will be talking about how our holidays are celebrated in other Hispanic countries. We

look forward to seeing you in the Winter Gala on December 13th!

Administrative Message Dear BridgePrep Family, .

Our Fall into a Book initiative is coming due! We could not be more proud of our students and the work they are putting into their projects. Please

be on the lookout for more wonderful academic opportunities for our steller students this school year!

Additionally, we have some Holiday events coming up. The Polar Express Movie Night will be taking place Tuesday, December 11th

. We hope our

students will enjoy watching this modern classic. The Winter Gala will be taking place Thursday, December 13th

. This Holiday program offers music,

food and a special visitor from the North Pole.

While on Winter break and enjoying the joyful season, let’s not neglect all the hard work our students have put into their education. We want our

students to continue to advance in their studies, even when on break. Just 20 minutes of reading a day in any subject and a couple of minutes

reviewing math problems is all it will take to maintain their growth. Please look for any packets that may have been provided by your teachers.

There are multiple computer programs that can aid in your child’s learning progressions, and maybe even make this time enjoyable. Some of these

programs include, IStation, Myon, Khan Academy, Achieve 3000, TenMarks, and Cool math. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Holiday

Season.

Welcome to First Grade

First grade is looking forward to moving into measurements

of time, length using standard and nonstandard units of

measurement in Math. We are closing up our unit of

Objects in the sky and moving forward with the studies of

the Earth's Resources and its amazing structures. In

reading, we are working on nonfiction and identifying the

main idea and details, as well as text features. For writing,

we will begin working on writing an opinion piece. Please

have an amazing holiday with family and friends while

staying safe and sound. .

Welcome to Second Grade

Second grade will finish our unit about

informational text and will be completing a

holiday novel study in December. We will continue

practicing the research process in social studies

with a project on famous veterans. In writing, we

will be learning how to respond to an

informational as well as an opinion prompt. There

will also be some mid-year assessments to

evaluate children's progress this year so far. Just

before the break, students will have the exciting

opportunity to share a project about an

informational text that was read for our Fall into a

Book initiative. We look forward to continued

learning as we enter the holiday season.

Welcome to 4th

grade

Greetings parents,

Can you believe December is already upon us? This year has

been so exciting time is flying by. In ELA we began our "Fall

into a Book" reading initiative. This initiative gives the

students the opportunity to give a report on any Non-fiction

book of their choice. These reports can be presented in

several ways such as diorama, a presentation, and many

more options. We are excited here at Bridge Prep Academy

to see the students let their creative minds fly!

In Social Studies we learned about Florida's role in the

Revolutionary War and about the "Pirates" that settled in

Florida! We will continue to learn about Florida's history and

the role our great state has had in the United States.

In Mathematics it is all about fractions! Fractions are an

important part of life. Fractions are all around us and are

especially used for careers like cooking, baking, a mechanic,

working in construction and so many more careers!

In Science it is all about Matter! Matter is everywhere! It also

changes quite often. Understand what matter is, why it

changes, and how it changes is an important part of learning

science.

The students have been working on a STEM Fair project

this month and is due to be completed soon. We can't

wait to see the projects our students have worked hard

to complete. Please be on the lookout for pictures on

Welcome to Third Grade

In November our 3rd graders wrote a Folktale that included a

superhero learning a life lesson.

In December our 3rd graders will be learning about our

Government starting with the 1st Amendment. They will also

have a Novel study where they will be learning about

different presidents and some Presidents' wives. All of our

3rd graders are excited about "Fall into a Book".

Welcome to Fifth Grade

In math we have been working on converting

units in both the customary and metric system as

well as classifying and sorting triangles and

quadrilaterals. In science we explored electricity

by building functional circuits. We also

investigated Newton’s Laws of Motion!

We are looking forward to hearing the students

Welcome to Music

A musical note from the music classroom!!!

Let me share with you how proud I am of all

my students for working so hard within the

music classroom. Elementary students know

everything about singing with their head

voice and the correct posture for singing.

Meanwhile, middle school students are

learning about Beethoven and his life while

dancing to some Christmas cumbia.

During the month of December, elementary

level students will be preparing for their

Christmas concert. They will learn the

proper procedures that are expected during

a performance. Middle schoolers will be

learning the C scale and how identify notes

on the staff. In addition, they will continue

learning how to feel the beat through

movement and dancing.

Welcome to Art

Art is fun!!!

Our students really enjoy Our students really enjoy making holiday

ornaments to decorate at our Winter Gala this Month. We will also

be learning about history, famous artists and different techniques

of design and drawing. We are learning about Op Art, Mosaic,

Portrait, Agamograph, Still life and other kinds of art.
