Where is it set?

We know that this soap will be set in London as you can see the O2 arena next to the river Thames. When the music starts I assume that the lifestyles of the characters are going to be dramatic as the sound of the drums are quite dramatic.

When is it set?

You see that it is set in modern London because of the O2 arena. As the music carries on and the sound of the piano kicks in I seem to think that the lifestyles will also be grim and boring and the characters will either be working or middle class.

Which soap is it?

When the title sequence comes to an end I can see for definite that the soap I am watching is Eastenders.

Page 5: Brand identity

Which Institution broadcasts it?

This also tells me that it is set in the east end of London. It also shows me which institution broadcasts it (BBC).

Page 6: Brand identity

Within the Mise en scene we can tell that a boy lives here as we can see a football, school bag, felt-tips and a blue t-shirt which are stereotypical things to see. We also see a pair of men's shows which are out of place which could suggest that some one is at the house and is not suppose to be.

Page 7: Brand identity

In this shot as the camera pans up the man we can also see pink on the banister which suggest that a girl also lives here as well

Page 8: Brand identity

Here we can see more toys/teddies on the stairs which also shows that there is children living in this household.

Page 9: Brand identity

We can see that this is a house of the lower class, the wallpaper it out of date and doesn’t go with the border and the banister looks it has better days and so it seem that’s the house hasn’t been redecorated in a while. There is some jogging pants and jacket which seem to suggest that the boy could be a teenager.

Page 10: Brand identity

When we look at the women we see that she middle aged, we believe that she s the one that lives in the house, analysing her and the stuff of the children at the bottom of the stairs we believe that the children could be her grand-children. The dressing gown that she is doing up is casual which creates realism

Page 11: Brand identity

Here there is another picture on the wall that seems to be just there for decorative purposes and the same old wallpaper which also shows that this house hasn’t been decorated in a long while. The fact that there might be children in the house could be the reason that this man is trying to leave early.

Page 12: Brand identity

Here we see a well dressed woman in a standard café with builders which makes her look out of place. It also look like she is dressed to impress to make her look like she important when she isn’t.

Page 13: Brand identity

In this close up helps show the emotion on the women's face and we see that there is something that is upsetting her, we can also see that it looks like she has her hair done and has lots of make-up on.

Page 14: Brand identity

Here we can that this man is some sort of boss but not of an important business we can see paper everywhere which suggest that he is not in a proper office, there not a lot of light just enough to light up his face, to mimic his importance. It could also show that he is not a good person in life.

Page 15: Brand identity

Here there is another close up and we can see that that she doesn’t like this person, we can also see this by what she says “..my least favourite person?” and that the person she is talking to is her boss the man in the previous screen shot.

Page 16: Brand identity

Here is it like we are in the room spying on the character this this make the audience feel that they are involved in the scenario that is in front of us.

Page 17: Brand identity

Throughout these screen shots, we can see multiple main characters which allows there to be multiple parallel narratives and convergence. This keeps the audience interested.
