Themodular and compact switchgear is composed of a set of reduced sizemodular cubicles, single or multifunctional, for different Medium Voltagesecondarypowerdistributionconfigurationsupto24kVinpublicandindustrialsettings.

Boththebreakingandswitchingcomponentsaswellasthebusbararelocatedinside a stainless steel SF6-filled gas tank which is permanently sealed,thus building a fully insulated unit. This provides protection against harshenvironmentalelements(includingflooding),longservicelifeandmaintenance-freeofliveparts.

Connecting Set

Thevariousmodulesareelectricallyconnectedbytheconnectingset,patentedin1991byOrmazabal.

This assembly connects the main busbar of the extendiblecubicles, allowing current to flow while also controlling theelectricfield.

Other important aspects are the capacity to maintain thesamefunctionalcharacteristicsofthecubiclesandtheeaseofinstallation,evenintransformersubstationswithunevenfloors.

Interlocks

The system has a series of interlocks to ensure safe, reliableservice, inaccordancewith the requirementsof the IEC60298standard. Based on the design and the inclusion of additionalinterlocks, the switch-disconnector and the earthing switchcannotbeclosedsimultaneously.

AninterlockoperatedbytheearthingswitchpreventstheaccesscovertotheMVcableterminalsfromopening,therebyavoidingunsafeoperations.

In addition, the access to the fuse holders in the protectionfunctionalunitsisalsosecuredwiththesameinterlock.

The cubicles allow switching to be disabled by padlocks (upto three) for both the switch-disconnector and the earthingdisconnector.

Optionally, switching lockingdevicesequippedwitha lockareavailableforanyoftheoperations.

Voltage Presence Indicator

The design is according to IEC 61958 standard, indicates thepresenceofvoltageinthephasesofeachfunction.

Acoustic Alarm

Acousticalarm topreventearthing, isa self-poweredaudibleindicatorthatisactivatedwhenanattemptismadetooperatethe earthing disconnector shaft under power cable voltage,therebyalertingtheoperatorofperformingaswitchingoperationthatmayproduceafaultinthenetwork.

Protection, Metering, Control and Signalling
