Executive Summary.
Blueprint for Academic Excellence College of Arts & Sciences AY2017-2018
Introduction A strong and vibrant College of Arts and Sciences remains critical to the University's mission: the education of the state's citizens through teaching, research, creative activity, and community engagement. The College has 475 tenure-track faculty, 125 non-tenure-track faculty, 7,000 majors, and 1,000 graduate students in a wide range of disciplines, offering 50 Bachelor's & Master's Degrees and 20 Doctoral Programs, covering over 40 percent of all credit hours at USC and 95 percent of the Carolina Core. The College produced 110 PhDs in AY2016. The faculty hold 5 of the 7 annual Mungo Graduate Teaching Awards, 23 of the 28 Mungo Undergraduate Teaching Awards awarded (2010-16), and every Russell Research Award awarded from 2010-16.
