w/light recep on

In conjunction with the Church’s yearly November All Souls’ remembrance, on Saturday, November 2 at 5:30 PM at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, our parish will celebrate the Eucharist to remember in a special way the lives of our beloved dead. At this Mass there will be a unique remembrance of those who have been buried from our parish since All Souls’ Day last year. For those who have lost a loved one from the parish last year, the names will be read of those who have been buried from the church. Loved ones are invited to bring a photograph of their departed loved one to be placed at the foot of the altar in remembrance. Special candles will be prepared ahead of time with your loved one’s name on the candle. If you plan to attend the Mass on November 2, please call Katie Zuzik in the parish office at 724-834-3710 ex. 11.

Moving to a Nursing Home or Assisted Living Facility?

If you, or your loved one, will be moving to a nursing home or assisted living facility please let the parish know about the move. Due to HIPPA regulations, nursing home facilities are unable to alert us when one of our parishioners moves in. We like to keep in touch with our nursing home parishioners through the year with cards or visits. You can call or email Katie in the parish office at 724-834-3710 ex. 11 or [email protected] with the information or with any questions.

Shakespeare the Catholic - ($5 Book) Best-selling literary writer Joseph Pearce presents a stimulating and vivid biography of the world's most revered playwright and poet. Unabashedly provocative and sure to be controversial, this work strives to separate historical fact from fiction about the beloved Bard, arguing the case with scholarship, insight, and keen observation. Famous, yet almost unknown, Shakespeare is not only one of the greatest figures in human history, he is also one of the most elusive. Who was he? What

were his beliefs? Can we really understand his plays if we don’t know the man who wrote them? These are some of the questions that are asked and answered in this gripping and engaging study. Shakespeare the Catholic claims that books about the Bard have got him totally wrong. Dealing with the facts of Shakespeare's life and times, Pearce's quest leads to the inescapable conclusion that Shakespeare was a believing Catholic living in very anti-Catholic times.

A Catholic Millennial's Guide to Adulting ($4 CD) The Millennial Generation has grown to adulthood. Having experienced many of the conveniences and pitfalls of new technologies, social media, student loan debt, and adult life, millennials have also developed a genuine desire to do something great with their lives, but often don't know how to get there. As fellow millennial Paul J. Kim shares with great humor and insight, tackling life's big challenges and desires for vocation, career, and greatness can give powerful witness to God and the gift of life.

By an Unexpected Way - ($5 Book) Do committed Christians need to withdraw from society? This is the question that many people are asking. No one can predict how the future will look, but one thing is clear. We don’t need countercultural gestures, so much as the grace of Christ. By an Unexpected Way explores true stories of modern men and women living and sharing their faith against remarkable odds. Through the grace of Christ, they have embraced the tasks of evangelization where they are, with the tools they have. An

ultimate illustration of the “show, don’t tell” mantra, By an Unexpected Way is a manual for evangelization brought to life. From the founders of adventure camps, festivals, and coffeehouses, to the architects of Catholic mental health networks, parish renewal, and transformed neighborhoods, learn how to sustain your faith and renew your community. With replicable ideas, further reading, and concrete resources, By an Unexpected Way not only inspires, but offers the concrete guidance you need to build Christian culture in your own circumstances.
