“Vin de France” in essence represents a simplificationof the French offer, with a clear and professionalsegmentation following three key assets:

• The category focuses on wine brands;• It highlights the taste profiles of the wines (variety / varieties);• And finally it clearly shows the country of origin (France).

The category will consequently improve the competi-tive edge for the wines it represents, as focusing on“taste” means that the category has a greater abilityto adapt to consumer demand and expectation.One of its key aims is to reinforce French brands,ensuring consistency of product throughout theyear, and from year to year, with the objective of increasing consumer confidence in the category.

Today, we are more than aware that in the globalwine market, grape variety has become an essentialmotivator in wine-purchasing decisions. “Vin deFrance” without Geographic Indication + grapevariety is a category which is not solely intended torepresent entry-level wines. Brands are at liberty tochoose between three levels of quality positioning:basic, medium and premium. A thorough and profes-sional approach is essential at every level.

Die Bezeichnung “Vin de France” bedeutet einegrundlegende Vereinfachung französischer Weineohne regionale Herkunftsangabe. Denn sie bietet 3 handfeste Vorteile:

• Fokus auf Markenweine,• Betonung des Geschmacksprofils (Rebsorte/n),• klare Herkunftsangabe (Frankreich).

Insbesondere die Fokussierung auf ein „Geschmack-sprofil“ bietet einen deutlichen Wettbewerbsvorteil,weil es die Anpassung an Verbraucherwünscheund -erwartungen erleichtert.

Kernziel von “Vin de France” ist es, das Verbraucher-vertrauen in französische Markenweine durchProdukte von beständig gleichbleibender Qualitätdauerhaft zu stärken.

Die Rebsorte ist im internationalen Markt zu einembestimmenden Faktor für die Kaufentscheidunggeworden. Als Kategorie beschränkt sich “Vin deFrance” – ohne Angabe der Herkunftsregion, dafürmit Rebsorte – nicht auf Markteinstiegsqualitäten.Auch Markenweine werden in drei Qualitätsstufenangeboten: Im Einstiegssegment, im mittleren undim Premium-Segment. 73 recommendations for the international retail marketAnivin de France held a blind tasting in Paris in February for the third year in a row. The aim of the event was to select wines in the Vin de France category worthy of particular recommendation to the international retail market. The French Union of Oenologists (Union des Œnologues de France, UOEF), which has extensive experience in staging and hosting international wine competitions such as Vinalies Internationales, was entrusted with organising the wine selection. This cooperation with such a renowned partner ensured a uniform procedure and ideal tasting conditions.

Our jury of international experts tasted 242 wines this year and selected 73 for recommendation. We would like to present these to you over the following pages, classified according to the colour of the wine. Be inspired by the following overview and learn about many promising brands and cuvées. We trust you will greatly enjoy making your selection.

73 recommandations pour le commerce internationalPour la 3ème année consécutive, l‘Anivin de France a réalisé en février dernier à Paris une dégustation à l‘aveugle pour sélectionner les vins « ambassadeurs » de la catégorie Vin de France. L‘organisation de la Sélection Internati-onale a été confiée à L‘Union des Œnologues de France (UOEF) pour son expertise dans la tenue de compétitions internationales telles que les Vinalies Internationales. Placer l’organisation de la Sélection Internationale sous l’égide d’un partenaire aussi prestigieux garantit une méthodologie rigoureuse et des conditions parfaites de dégustation.

Notre jury de professionnels internationaux a retenu cette année 73 vins sur les 242 proposés. Classés par couleur, ces vins vous sont présentés dans les pages suivantes. Nous vous souhaitons une bonne dégustation et sommes certains que cela sera pour vous l’occasion de découvrir de nombreuses marques et cuvées intéressantes.

73 Empfehlungen für den internationalen HandelIm dritten Jahr in Folge führte Anivin de France im Februar in Paris eine Blindverkostung durch. Ziel dieser Veran-staltung war die Auswahl von Weinen, die dem internationalen Handel in der Kategorie „Vin de France“ besonders empfohlen werden können. Mit der Organisation der Weinauswahl wurde der französische Önologenverband Union des Œnologues de France (UOEF) betraut, der über umfangreiche Erfahrung in der Ausrichtung und Durchführung internationaler Weinwettbewerbe wie Vinalies Internationales verfügt. Über die Zusammenarbeit mit einem derart renommierten Partner wurden ein einheitliches Verfahren und optimale Verkostungsbedingungen sichergestellt.

Unsere aus internationalen Experten bestehende Jury verkostete in diesem Jahr 242 Weine und sprach 73 Emp-fehlungen aus. Diese möchten wir Ihnen – sortiert nach Weinfarbe – auf den folgenden Seiten vorstellen. “Vin de France” exprime essentiellement une simplification de l’offre française, caractérisée par une segmentation claire et professionnelle selon trois principes :

• Le segment est axé sur les vins de marque.• Les profils de goût des vins sont mis en valeur (cépages).• Enfin, le pays d’origine est clairement indiqué: France.

La mention “Vin de France” donne ainsi un avantageconcurrentiel accru aux vins qu’elle représente puisque l’accent porté sur le « goût » permet une plus grande capacité à s’adapter à la demande et aux attentes du consommateur.

L’un de ses principaux objectifs est de renforcer les marques françaises en veillant à la constance du produit d’année en année, afin d’accroître la confiance du consommateur vis-à-vis de la catégorie.

À l’heure actuelle, nous sommes plus que conscients du fait que dans le marché mondial du vin, le cépage est devenu un facteur essentiel de motivation des décisions d’achat de vin. “Vin de France” sans indication géographique + cépage est un segment dans lequel les marques sont libres de choisir entre trois niveaux de positionnement qualité: entrée, milieu et haut de gamme. Une démarche méthodique et professionnelle est essentielle à chaque niveau.

This year’s expert jury included buyers from the international retail market. Thanks to their perfect knowledge of the wine market, it was possible to select cuvées with the flavour profile to match the expectations of a great number of consumers.

In diesem Jahr zählten Einkäufer des internationalen Handels zum Kreis der Expertenjury. Dank ihrer perfekten Kenntnis des Weinmarkts konnten Cuvées ausgewählt werden, deren Geschmacksprofil den Erwartungen einer großen Zahl von Konsumenten entspricht.
