WHO SHOULD ATTENDHealth care providers who take care of patients with liver disease or are involved in hepatology research - including gastroenterologists, hepatologists, fellowship trainees, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and registered nurses

COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis course is specifically designed to update gastroenterologists and hepatologists on recent advances in the field of liver disease. A distinguished and experienced hepatology faculty will present the results and critical analysis of scientific research presented at the 2014 annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease.

COURSE OBJECTIVESUpon completion of this activity, attendees should be able to:• Discuss the most relevant research findings presented at AASLD 2014• Define recent developments in the diagnosis and treatment of liver diseases• Discuss evidence-based research that affects the practice of clinical gastroenterology and hepatology• Apply evidence-based approach to construct new treatment strategies

CONFERENCE SYLLABUS IS GOING GREENSyllabus materials will be available for download at uwcme.org (for conference registrants only). Materials will be available from December 1, 2014 - January 2, 2015, for registrants to print and/or download. A booklet with the conference agenda and pages for note-taking will be provided at the conference.

ACCREDITATIONAccreditation with CommendationThe University of Washington School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit DesignationThe University of Washington School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 3.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

PROFESSIONAL CREDIT .Nurses: 3.6 contact hours will be awarded for successful completion.Continuing Nursing Education at the University of Washington School of Nursing (UWCNE) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).

• Provider is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #07218, for 3.6 contact hours.

The University of Washington School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education (UWCME) is approved as a Washington State clock hour provider by the Washington State Board of Education.

ATTENDANCE POLICYCourse activities are exclusively reserved for course attendees. Badges provided at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.

CANCELLATION POLICYThe Office of Continuing Medical Education must receive written notification of your cancellation by November 24, 2014. A $50.00 processing fee will be deducted from refund requests received by this date. No refunds will be issued following May 28, 2014. The Office of Continuing Medical Education reserves the right to cancel this course twenty (20) days prior to the course date when a minimum enrollment is not met or for other reasons that prevent the University from holding the course. Each registrant will be notified by telephone followed by written notification and a full refund.
