WEDNESDAY 6 JULYMelba Tribute ConcertThe Melba Opera Trust presents a tribute to the great Melbafeaturing Hannah Dahlenburg and accompanying pianistRhodri Clarke. The programme includes Handel, Arditi,Donizetti, Liszt and others. Fresh and thrilling artists!
Australian-Canadian Soprano Hannah Dahlenburg has been a soloist for many Australian ensembles and is a regularartist for Opera Australia performing Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute (2016, 2015, and 2014), nailing every note of the famous aria with startling accuracy and clarity, whilststriding the stage with confidence and flair (Arts Review,2014).
Rhodri Clarke, with first class honours from the RoyalCollege of Music London, performs internationally as a pianosoloist, accompanist and chamber musician. Last year hecompleted a ten-city tour of Europe with Rolando Villazn and his chamber group Bolvar Soloists performing in venuesincluding Berlins Philharmonie, the Vienna Konzerthaus,Londons Royal Festival Hall and Thtre des Champs-Elyses in Paris.

at Beleura. Performance adapted by the late Stephanie Daniel from The Magic Pudding by Norman Lindsay. The book was originally published by Angus & Robertson Publishers in 1918.

14-24 JULY RARE BOOK WEEKTreasures in the HouseDuring his visit to London in 1953 John Tallis wrote to his family about visiting book shops in search of special andrare books for his brother, finally finding a set of AlexanderPope volumes. We celebrate Rare Book Week by displaying:
The Great Breath by Christian Waller, John Tallis copy No. 56 and the Foundations purchase, No. 24. Klytie Pate, Christian Wallers niece, published a second edition,
John Tallis copy being No. 261. These and Wallers The Gates of Dawn will be on display in the house accompanied by an informal talk over lunch about thesespecial treasures.

The Tallis Foundation supports The National Theatre with the Florence YoungScholarship in honour of Frank Van Straten OAM.

This year is a landmark for Beleura Sir George Tallis purchased Beleura in1916 so to celebrate, we have pulled out all stops and have commissionedBruce Raggatt to confect an extravaganza, 1916 based on the shows Sir Georgewas promoting in the JC Williamson theatres in that year. 1916 is scheduled forlate August.The amazing people at ANAM return with two performances in afour-recital Series. In August we celebrate 100 years of Tallis ownership, Rare BookWeek, sixty years of The National Trust, The National Theatres Graduating Classand we welcome back Daniel de Borah and The Melba Opera Trust.

It has often been remarked that there are no flowers in the house. There is a reason John Tallis could not tolerate them. He suffered and suffered from hayfever. Once, his housekeeper, who at that stage did not live in, put in somedaffodils and was dragged from his bed in the middle of the night and rushed toBeleura to find a suffering, streaming John Tallis demanding they be got rid of.
However, curated by Joan Simpson and her team, the house will be bedeckedwith flowers, and being Spring, the garden well worth a stroll. The HighgroveFlorilegium, a set of books celebrating HRH Prince Charles magnificent garden at Highgrove, will be on display.
Admission on Wednesday 14 is by sealed envelope for the St Peters BellamyHall Restoration Fund, Mornington.

FRIDAY 16 SEPTEMBERThe Australian National Academy of Music(ANAM) Series No. 2 ICONIC Featuring The Warsaw Concertoarranged for two pianos by Percy GraingerThis classic masterpiece, originally written as incidental
music for the movie Dangerous Moonlight, was a favourite of Australia's greatpianist/composer Percy Grainger who made this fabulous arrangement. It was also associated with Liberace, the iconic showman who brought joy to so many.
There will be an opportunity to wander through the House decorated with Spring flowers.

WEDNESDAY 21 SEPTEMBERMovies at BeleuraWhen ANAM gave us their program for theANAM Series this year we saw they intendedthe Warsaw Concerto by Richard Addinsell.We did some research. Originally, it was the sound track fora 1941 movie Dangerous Moonlight. Steve Rattle has found a copy and will put together a program: the main featureDangerous Moonlight and the Warsaw Concerto.
