Auralís is an emerging eco-conscious clothing label, based in New York and Puerto Rico. It was founded by Auralís Herrero-Lu-go at the end of 2008. Auralís Inc. takes pride in making beauti-fully designed, timeless pieces that are also practical and fashion forward.
The production is based in New York and Puerto Rico. Auralís em-ploys organic, sustainable, natural and recycled fabrics only. The textile processing includes low impact methods, leaving green fabrics with a minimal environmental footprint.
Every piece is made responsibly with love and care. Auralís strives to be sustainable and considerate to the planet in all the practices. Auralís’s team and collaborators are part of our family—all creative partners in this eco-venture. The brand cares about our community, and how actions affect the planet. We love what we do and it shows through the clothes we send out to the world.
An Eco - Venture . . .
BIO
While other children grew up listening to their parents’ favorite Julio Iglesias or Elvis, Auralís grew up hearing the lulling hum of her mother’s sewing machine. Her mother and grandmother—all talented seamstresses—fed Auralís heaping doses of proper construction and fabric. She has been sketching dresses since her early days in Puerto Rico. Her roots inform her unique point of view as a designer. Her aesthetic evokes Caribbean childhood memories and breezy summer nights in the tropics.
After years in the industry designing clothes that did not help build a better future, Auralís decided to capture her own voice with her own label—Auralís. Nowadays, she pours all her creativ-ity into the line’s collections. Every day at the Brooklyn based studio is an eco-venture. Here, Auralís creates timeless pieces that incorporate contemporary silhouettes; they are made sus-tainably, and by conserving resources.Auralís divides her time between New York City and Puerto Rico, the two islands that enrich and inspire her. In both islands she is an active member of the community, promoting and collaborating on projects that develop local and sustainable economies. Auralís also infuses this collaborative spirit into her fashion line. She collaborates with local Puerto Rico and New York artisans, and artists, when creating her collections.
Auralís blossomed out of the need to create eco-conscious and style-conscious pieces. It has been a labor of love and passion since the beginning. With each new collection, Auralís designs for a better future, one garment at a time.
