The Spates Community Club is a non-membership facility available as a venue for group trainings, conferences, trade shows, and other work-related events. Spates Community Club is also a favorite location to host wedding receptions and other special occassion events. We have a large ballroom, two smaller event rooms, and a fully operational bar area com-plete with pool tables and big screen tv’s. Our club is even large enough to accommodate outdoor events on our patio! Stop by any time and ask for a quick tour! We’d love to show you one of our most favorite facilities!

Our catering office helps plan and execute the event of your dreams! Our ballroom, complete with beautiful crystal chandeliers is large enough to fully accommodate a large event or can be sectioned to create a more intimate setting. Additionally, we have space in the Skylight Room or Executive Room to host club luncheons, cocktail hour, birthday or retirement parties. Stop by the club for a tour or visit us online to view the catering menus.

Special Events & Wedding Receptions

In addition to the size of our rooms, the best thing about hosting your training, conference, or trade fair at Spates is the location on base and the parking. Our building is one of the first buildings you drive past once you enter the base from Hatfield Gate and our parking lot has more than enough parking to accommo-date extremely large groups. We are ADA complaint and have a ramp for easy access to the building.

A note about Officers’ Club membership and use: The Fort Myer and Fort McNair Officers’ Clubs are established as military membership clubs for active and retired commissioned officers of the U.S. Armed Forces and DoD civilians of a corresponding pay grade (GS-7 and above, or equivalent). Membership benefits such as special reduced pricing and participation in Members-Only events accrue only to members in good standing with monthly dues paid in full. Non-members may participate in Officers’ Club food and beverage services and special entertainment events only when Non-member prices are advertised. Non-members (without rank/grade restrictions) must be active or retired DoD ID card holders/authorized MWR patrons in accordance with Chapter 7 of AR 215-1. Special Note: Through an exception to policy, area Federal Employees can now enjoy all the benefits and services our Clubs and Bowling Center previously authorized for only DoD ID card holders. The exception to policy does not apply to Army Community Service, our Fitness Centers or Child Care Centers. Patronage of ACS and our Fitness Centers are still limited to DoD ID card holders, active and retired. Patronage of our Child Care Centers is still limited to only active DoD ID card holders.
