Audience research analysisTo gather information, we created a survey which we handed out to 20 random people. We felt that 20 people would be the right amount to collect the results we needed. These questions were based on mise en scene, editing, sound and genre. The results have helped us on planning for our film.

From the research we gathered, we have decided to make our antagonists wear hoodies. This costume will make it obvious to the audience the representation of the characters.

The information we received showed a suit is what a hero would most likely. The results showed 65% of people chose a suit so we decided to make our hero/heroes wear this.

A massive 85% said that the location should be in a rural area. We took this on board and used this in the title of the film so its obvious to the audience.

We have decided to use compact and open areas in our film to have a better variety of shots.

Our results showed us that people want to see 4-6 different locations in a trailer. So we are going to film in different locations.

70% of people said they don’t like when the trailer gives away parts of the film. Therefore we are going to only give the audience ideas about what will happen.

80% of people we asked said that they want the main character to stand out in the trailer. We have decided that our main characters will be the focus of the trailer to make it obvious to the audience who the main characters are.

Meaning in the film through editing is important as we can highlight a vital piece of the film and make it very noticeable or use editing to hide parts of the film. 75% of people said we need to create meaning in the film through editing.

A huge 80% of people said editing should be overused, therefore we have decided to make sure we edit lots of our clips and add transitions to make it effective.

Most people could guess the genre from the props used in the film. This helped made us choose our props wisely so the audience could easily understand the genre.

Our information showed that pace can create tension in the trailer. This is important as our genre Is action which strongly relies on tension.

Sound was shown to be very important. We will use this to build tension and to keep the audience in suspense.
