Methodology In order to research the audience of this band, I

used one of the forums dedicated to the band.

Hypothesis I think they will be quite laid back people, enjoy

playing computer games and the most common age will be around 30. Also they will use social networking sites quite a lot.

The Reformer – ‘Don’t tell me what to do or think’, anti-materialistic and intellectual.

The Explorer – Discovery, challenge, young in nature if not in reality, try out new ideas and experiences, respond to brands that offer new sensations.

FF Music Catchy, good honest rock music, creative and

humorous, variety, emotive, interesting lyrics, consistent style, good for people of different ages, fun to play along to, ‘great dudes’, Dave’s hair.

Preferred older grunge/punk influence, sound more like Bon Jovi each day.

Difference from other bands

Humble, all great musicians, regular guy attitude, do what makes them happy, don’t care about image, honest, unique sound, songs for every mood, skill, passion, musicianship, great figurehead, Dave Grohl.

Conclusion Conclusion – some of the results, such as the

dream occupations including ‘dog sitter’ reinforce the idea of being laid back and having different ideas to the majority. Also, I predicted the audience would be largely of an older demographic, this was shown in the age question, the majority were 40+. Other predictions were, challenged, for example, hobbies were more active and demonstrate high cultural capital, for example, some enjoyed reading and painting.
