Iris Digital Imaging Solution

For many veterinary practices, digital imaging and data storage can make a valuable difference to the way things are run.

Iris is a multi-user and multi-screen imaging solution and goes beyond many traditional PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications Systems).

The system enables users to archive, access, view, process, manipulate, review and communicate DICOMs and other digital media, as well as entire DICOM studies

(constituting multiple files) from terminals on the computer network.

Advantages to going digital are:

Increased space: images don’t need to be stored on film or printed out, but can be saved on the computer system.

Reduced time: staff will no longer need to actively search for films and spend time filing them.

X-rays are also quicker to produce with digital equipment and both digital and computed radiography is faster than the traditional method.

Reduced costs: upgrading traditional X-ray equipment for digital equipment eliminates the need for films, chemicals and processor maintenance.

For more information please call 01359 243400, email [email protected] or visit us at www.vetsystems.com/iris

“Investing in digital equipment and systems not only future-proofs your practice, but can also maintain and expand your client base with the simple assurance that the practice is providing the best and most up-to-date service.”

Key features include:

• The ability to store DICOM files together with clinical and patient records as well as text notes, lab reports, forms, photos and images.

• The potential to show clients results, scans, and display an animal’s progress direct from the consulting room.

• Bespoke configuration allowing swift data transfer throughout the network, whether calling up or saving digital information and other records.

• The capability to work alongside or in conjunction with your existing practice management system.

• Robust imaging software with advanced rendering and multi-modal options.

VetStation Terminals

Choosing the right hardware is as important as selecting the correct software; both need to be trustworthy, efficient and intuitive.

Benefits of the VetStations

• Internet Security: VetStations have a greater immunity to Internet viruses and other cyber nasties when compared with PC solutions.

• High Performance and Reliability

• Attractive, Compact and Quiet: the terminals have diminutive proportions and an enviably sleek exterior – it’s perfect for the modern reception desk or consult room. Unlike many other computers they operate in near silence.

• Pre-loaded with software: to make life as easy as possible for staff, the VetStation comes ready and preloaded with powerful software. Customised Menus: the VetStation menu appears in the bottom left hand corner (denoted by the AT logo) and is a straightforward ‘point and click’ system.

• Controlled Program Access: access to programs not suited for use in the veterinary practice (e.g. music and games) are removed from the VetStation – one less issue to be concerned about.

• A Fully Supported Solution: VetStations can be configured and updated easily by AT. In addition, as with all solutions from AT, users have access to customer support 24/7.

For more information please call 01359 243400, email [email protected] or visit us at www.

Vision Email Server

Many practices have long enjoyed the benefits of email and it has revolutionised the way we work. Access to instant, paperless communication, which can reach audiences anywhere and at any time, has proved to be an invaluable business tool.

Vision Email Server is a highly functional email system that works with your existing practice network and can be up and running within hours of installation.

Now you can ensure that all emails sent from the practice are consistent and professional looking. Every member of the practice

can have their own business email address which means staff can send emails that all link to the practice’s own domain name, i.e., [email protected].

Vision Email Server works with several email client programs including Outlook, Apple Mail and Thunderbird, so you can continue using familiar programs.

Data storage limits will also never be an issue for your practice as even entry-level systems come with 160GB of storage – making it possible to store literally thousands of emails.

Vision Email Server is a complete email solution for the whole practice that’s easy to set up, use and administer - creating standardised and professional emails has never been so simple.

If you would like more information about Vision Email Server, please call 01359 243400, email enquiriesvetsystems.com or visit us at www.vetsystems.com/vision

Why is a professional email solution so important?

With technology now a key part of so many people’s lives, clients now have much higher expectations when it comes to the use of the Internet. Using practice email addresses on a dedicated practice network arguably looks more professional and portrays an appropriate practice image.

With a suitable practice mail set-up, all email records will remain the property of the practice – meaning that important information and emails are not lost.

Features such as filtering of spam and email virus scanning ensure your emails are protected and your inbox is not overwhelmed with junk messages.

Professional looking emails can be used as an invaluable marketing tool and multiple emails in the form of reminders and e-news are a key component of any communications campaign.

Effective email solutions allow any user to manage their emails, whatever the breadth of their technical knowledge.

Benefits of Vision Email Server:

• Quick and efficient

• Automated spam filtering

• Convenient and unobtrusive

• Accessible from home, the practice, branch surgeries, or on the road

• Messages are automatically backed up

• Lower carbon footprint

Vision has optional synchronisation with mobile phones, laptops or home computers that will enable you to send, receive and compose emails from wherever you are.

No technical knowledge is required and Vision ensures every aspect of email management and administration is straightforward. New staff joining the team can be set up within minutes; new users can also easily be added to receive group emails.

Vision Sentinel Security

Securing the practice’s computer network is of paramount importance. Infected computers lower performance and productivity. Dealing with an infection in a practice network can also be costly, time-consuming and frustrating. In addition to utilising antivirus software, AT implements further safeguards for practices with Vision Sentinel Security, its managed gateway to the Internet. Vision Sentinel Security is a multifaceted network security solution, which includes a dynamic firewall and other advanced features to protect your

practice’s entire LAN (Local Area Network). It offers monitored and updated protection against viruses and a myriad of other security threats.

Features of Vision Sentinel Security:

• Provides remote monitoring and an automatic alert mechanism, working in a similar way to a traditional burglar alarm.

• DMZ (demilitarised zone), which is rather like a virtual holding and quarantine area that exists between the practice’s LAN (Local Area Network) and the Internet.

• Pre-installed and dynamic firewall, which is maintained and updated remotely by the AT team.

• Pre-loaded anti-virus software.

• Unique ID and password system.

• Vulnerability checks and verifications carried out remotely by AT’s team.

As well as delivering network and data security, the Vision Sentinel solution also enables you to:

• Centrally manage who has access to the Internet and when.

• Safely connect to the practice’s network remotely via a VPN (Virtual Private Network) so you can work from home or anywhere with an Internet connection and all data transmissions are encrypted.

• Securely link all branch surgeries and the main practice.

Key Benefits of Sentinel:

• Secures Practice Network

• Cost Effective

• Protects Client Records

• Access From Anywhere

• Controls Internet Access

Central Data ManagementAll practice data – including protocols, procedures, staff handbooks and so on – can be stored and managed centrally.

Central Printer ManagementShared printers are set up on the central server for ease of use and administration.

Mobile DesktopsOwing to the fact that it runs on a central server, it’s possible for any member of the practice team to bring up his or her own Vision desktop at any terminal on the practice’s network. It offers an efficient and workable way of ‘hot desking’ and is ideal for vets on the move.

The Vision Business Server can be supplied as a combined system complete with Vision Email Server and Vision Sentinel Security.

The Vision System can be tailored to suit a practice’s specific needs and there are also some additional features that can be run through it:

• Text messaging - send texts to colleagues and clients direct from the keyboard.

Web and Smartphone Technology

”Welcome to the future of technology”

With technology constantly advancing, practices need to ensure that they are keeping up-to-date with the latest trends and satisfying the growing needs of clients.

These days it’s not just about having a mobile - it’s about being mobile. Accessibility and convenience are key factors when it comes to meeting client expectations and iPhone/iPad applications ensure that users have everything they need at their fingertips.

An innovative iPhone application can elevate a

practice to bigger, faster and farther reaching levels and the potential for tapping into new clients is immense. It is a cost effective marketing tool which firmly puts you in touch with your relevant audience.

Apps have quickly become ‘portable web sites’ and they provide businesses with visibility that extends beyond the Internet and literally into your clients’ pockets and bags.

Vision Technology is the future

Vision Technology design, develop and implement professional iPhone and iPad applications as well as web and android applications.

We have developed various veterinary apps for both the iPhone and iPad with more in development. The apps are not only successful with clients, Apple has featured the apps on the ‘what’s hot’ section under medical and on the New & Noteworthy section.

Key benefits of iPhone/iPad apps:

• Instant Service

• Easy to use

• Increases revenue

• Enhances the client experience

• Cost effective marketing

• Allows the mobilisation of your practice

Any company that develops iPhone and iPad applications is required to have an Apple licence and be a member of iOS. This is so all custom built apps adhere to User Interface Standards and Development Standards as defined by Apple.

Vision Technology is a licensed member of the iOS Development Program and all applications built meet the standards and requirements as set by Apple. The experienced and skilled developers are

committed in continuously meeting and exceeding the expectations of the clients and the apps are designed to enhance the user experience, engage with your clients and build up your mobile brand.

By working closely with you in the development stage, we can ensure that the final product is one that both you and your clients want and need.
