  • ASCOMs technology portfolio has been developed through

substantial investments in R&D activities, testing under

realistic eld conditions, eld trials and detailed simulations.

ASCOM offers full capabilities in all important regional markets

through technology and manufacturing joint ventures.

Local ASCOM employees are trained by our senior experts

to excel in advanced separation solutions. ASCOM takes

local capability building seriously, not only by providing

local fabrication, but also by local R&D activities.

ASCOM can provide eld installation supervision.

ASCOM technologies are both vessel-based as well as highly

compact in-line (pipe-based) separation units. These are used

in new built facilities and can also be applied to retrot existing

installations. With this approach ASCOM provides solutions

for a wide range of operating conditions.

ASCOMs technologies can with great advantage be deployed for

Compact solutions for new built facilities, onshore and

    offshore (xed or oating)

Debottlenecking and boosting of mature elds production

    Subsea processing

    Early Production Systems/Facilities

    Heavy oil separation

    Flare elimination

Advanced Separation Company BV (ASCOM) specializes in classic and compact separation technologies for gas/liquid, liquid/liquid separation, water treatment, gas treatment and desanding.

The application of ASCOM technologies and services will in general result in important CAPEX and OPEX reductions.

  • ADVANCED IN-LINE (PIPE-BASED) TECHNOLOGY

The available space for economic debottlenecking of

existing facilities is very limited. Furthermore the installation

of minimal facility platforms has signicantly increased

over the past decade. As a result the demand for compact

    in-line technology has increased.

ASCOM has highly advanced technologies in its portfolio

which will provide compact, efcient and reliable solutions

for your installation, covering gas/liquid, oil/water and

    sand separation.

STATE -OF-THE-ART CLASSIC VESSEL -BASED TECHNOLOGY

Horizontal separators are particularly suitable for separating

mixtures of oil, gas and water into three phases with optional

sand removal. They often need to perform under extremely

demanding operating conditions, e.g. on FPSOs or in subsea

    service.

Vertical separators (scrubbers) are compact and highly efcient

gas-liquid separation units. They are particularly suitable

for gas continuous ows, although oil/water separation

and/or sand removal equipment can be integrated therein.

ASCOM offers a wide range of high performance internals

that will guarantee an optimal and reliable performance

    of your separators and scrubbers.

ASCOM aims to provide the best integrated solutions by using state-of-the-art separation components. ASCOMs design rules are industry leading and veried under real operating conditions

ASCOM specializes in both state-of-the-art classic vessel-based (internals) as well as in advanced in-line (pipe-based) technology.

  • ASCOMs technology range covers state-of-the-art classic

vessel-based internals as well as compact in-line (pipe-based)

designs. This portfolio makes it possible to create ultracompact

solutions and as such cut equipment weight, size and CAPEX,

with a highly reliable performance and uptime.

  • At ASCOM Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is an integral part of product development. Multiphase ow simulations are used to predict, visualize and understand the uid ow behaviour inside process equipment like separators and scrubbers at both test and full scale conditions. The combination of CFD and sophisticated testing gives a very clear insight in the physical processes inside the equipment. The use of CFD predictions results in geometrically better designed prototypes and therefore a shorter and more effective design process. Moreover, test results are used for validation of the CFD modelling and this leads to more reliable predictions. Therefore, CFD is of great value in ASCOMs R&D program that focuses on continuous upgrading of existing equipment as well as developing new separation equipment.

  • Apart from R&D and product development, CFD is also

regularly applied in custom made design of separation

equipment. In retro t applications CFD can assist in diagnosis

and troubleshooting of existing facilities and in new built cases

optimisation of the ow pro le can enhance performance and

capacity or reduce the required size. For separators on oating

production units the uid sloshing can be evaluated and the

separator and internals design can be optimized accordingly.

ASCOM uses the latest version of the Fluent CFD software

    from Ansys (www. uent.com).

  • ASCOM can enable this through our expertise and knowledge

of separation, use of efcient tools such as CFD and testing

under realistic eld conditions. From idea and concept, it is

a short way for initial rapid prototyping and atmospheric testing.

This gives the rst indication of separation performance and

efciency, before moving on to high pressure and full scale

testing. You as the client are closely involved and consulted

to match the expectations and performance criteria set.

ASCOMs technology portfolio is proprietary and patented

(or patent pending), with full IP rights. We work with unique

designs and nd competitive advantages for fabrication methods.

ASCOM is building close relationships with oil & gas companies

around the world to get necessary approvals and acceptance.

We have extensive process design know-how and related

    proprietary test data.

ASCOM is cooperating with PROLABNL for testing and

verication, using world class high ow rate and high pressure

test facilities. See more information on www.prolabnl.com

Continuous improvement and design optimizations are made

to keep ahead and be in the leading position.

Contact us and we give you guidance to a new world

    of separation solutions.
