Figures/illustrations. Graphs,flowcharts,diagrams,drawings,maps,andphotographsare
some of the different types of illustrations you may submit as part of your article. Eachillustration shouldbe thoughtfullydesignedor selected in order to showa relationshipofideas,data,orobjectsthatwouldbedifficulttodescribepreciselyorcompletelyusingwordsalone.
Illustrationsorfiguresmustbesubmittedwiththefinalmanuscriptinsoftcopy.Authorsareresponsibleforpreparingorobtainingreproducibleversionsoftheirfigures,alongwithcaptionsandsourcelines.
Footnotes. 3. AppendicesAppendices shouldbe limited to material designed to supplement the text. They shouldbepreparedliketherestofthearticle.Ifyouhavemorethanoneappendix,eachshouldbeassignedanumberandtitle.Obtaincopyrightpermissionsforanymaterialsincludedthatarefromothersources.Eachappendixshouldbereferencedsomewhereinthemaintext,anditshouldappearintheorderinwhichitisreferenced.

GUIDELINES ON FORMAT AND STYLEAPstrivestopublishtitlesthatdemonstrateexcellenceinthequalityoftechnicalinformationandtheclarityofexpression.Yourideasshouldbepresentedinamannerthatislogical,accurate,andasconciseaspossible.Itisimportantthattechnicalterms,notations,andsymbolsaredefinedandusedwithconsistency.

2. Writing style(a) Headings
Toavoidconfusion, it is important for there tobeconsistency in thestyleof theheadingsandsubheadingsinyourmanuscript.APjournalsusethefollowingheadinglevelsandstyles,whicharealltobealignedwiththeleftmargin:

Youmayadoptyourownstyleofheadings,butpleasebeconsistentintheexecutionofthestyle.
PleasenotethatoriginalstylesandformatswilleventuallybealteredduringeditingtoconformtotheAPhousestyle.

Thetextshouldbeorganisedintonumberedparagraphs.Authorsshouldnumbertheparagraphsinthetextsequentiallystartingfrom1.
Anycrossreferenceswithinthemanuscriptshouldbetoparagraphnumbersonly.
(c) Text
Bodytextshouldbesetin12ptTimes(orTimesNewRoman)andjustifiedwith1.5linespacing.Youmayusesymbolswherecertaincharactersoraccentsneedtobeadded.
(i) Abbreviations
Abbreviationsandacronyms,unlessuniversallyknown,shouldalwaysbestatedinfullwhenitfirst appears in the article and its abbreviation indicated after it in parentheses within doublequotationmarks,foreg,InlandRevenueAuthorityofSingapore(IRAS).
(d) Quotations
(i) Quotations within a sentence
Enclose quotations within a sentence in double quotation marks ( ). Aquotation within aquotation should be enclosed in single quotation marks ( ). Include punctuation withinquotationmarksonlyifacompletesentenceisquoted.

(ii) Quotations in a separate block
Aquotationlonger thanthreelinesshouldbesetoutinaseparateblockindentedfromtheleftmargin.
(iii) Changes to quotations
Ingeneral,aquotationshouldbereproducedexactlyasitappearsinthesource,withnochangestospelling,capitalisationorpunctuation.However,ifdesired,citationsmaybeomittedandthephrase[internalcitationsomitted]addedtotheendofthequotation.
Ifitisnecessarytomakeinterpolations,corrections,explanations,translationsorcommentsfor clarity, these shouldbe enclosed in squarebrackets ([ ]). Omissions shouldbe indicatedwiththeuseofanellipsis(),whichshouldconsistofthreefullstops,nomoreorless,withaspacebeforeandafter.Donottypeafullstopafteranellipsisthatendsasentence.

(i) Cases
Whencitingalocalreportedjudgmentfrom1965to2009,citetheSLR(R)inpreferencetoothereditionsoftheSingaporeLawReports.Whencitingalocalreportedjudgmentfrom2010, use the SLR citation. Only where a Singapore case is unreported should its neutral

C. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?1. Key milestones during productionDuringthetimebetweenyourarticlesubmissionanditsfinalprinting,thefollowingwilloccur.
(a) Initial check
TheEditordoesaninitialcheckonyourmanuscript.Thisinvolves:
Sending the author an acknowledgment letter/email. [NB: An acknowledgment does notconstituteacceptanceforpublication.]
Checkingyourmanuscriptforcompleteness.
Checkingyourartwork/tables/figures(ifany)forclarity.
(b) Peer review
AP academic journals are peerreviewed publications. For certain journals, articles forconsideration will undergo a doubleblind peer review process, in which the identity of theReferee is withheld from the author and vice versa. The review process may take between23weeks.
Only articles which havebeen deemed suitable for publicationby our independent andexpertRefereeswillbeaccepted.
(c) Notification of acceptance or otherwiseAuthorswillreceivenotificationoftheoutcomeofthepeerreview.Authorswhosearticleshave
beenacceptedforpublicationwillberequestedtograntacopyrightlicencetoAPtopublishtheirarticle,priortocommencementofcopyediting.APsstandardCopyrightLicenceAgreementmay

(d) Copy-editing
Whenthemanuscriptisreadytoentertheproductionprocess,itiscopyeditedinthestyleofthejournal and typeset. The artwork is sized according to the required specifications. The mainobjective of copyediting is toensure that the text is clear and correctwith regard to spelling,grammarandsyntax.Itisnotintendedthatyourmanuscriptberewritteninanyotherway.
Manymanuscriptsdeal withhighly technical or specialisedareas. Abasic familiaritywithlegal/technical English on the part of the Editor is assumed,but a detailed knowledge of thedisciplineconcernedisnot.Itisassumedthatthelegalcontentandexpressionofthemanuscripthasbeenthoroughlyresearchedandcheckedbytheauthorpriortosubmission.
(e) Final check by author
As the author of the work, AP relies on you to submit a clean, correct copy. As soon as themanuscripthasbeenedited,onesetofeditedproofinMSWordformatwillbesenttotheauthor.Upon receipt of the proof, author(s) may review the content to ensure that the meaning andintentionoftheirtexthasnotchangedduringtheeditingphase.
