TOMORROW FRIDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER
2013
Friday 20th September 12M Assembly 9.15am Friday 20th September Last day of school term 3 HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY !!! Tuesday 8th October First day back Term 4 Students and Staff
Great Things Have Been Happening at our School As the term comes to a close and we consider all the great things that have happened, there have been a number of highlights - Athletics Carnivals, Gala Days, the K-2 and 3-6 productions, Visiting performers, the SCLC performing arts concert and visits to the community continue to give our students a rich learning experience. The most impressive thing that I have seen is in the classrooms. The children have been working to their potential in class, with great teaching and learning taking place. We look forward to continuing this next term, and finishing the year on a high. A time to Dance….yes!! It has been a fantastic few days for the community of our school. Every student has had the opportunity to be part of the school production and they didn’t disappoint us. What stood out as an audience member was the smiles and sense of accomplishment that each of our talented young performers had.
This was matched by the positive comments and pride of parents and community members. The school would like to thank a number of people for ensuring this was a success. Firstly the work in organising such a big event was largely coordinated by Mark Farrell and Jess. The teachers were responsible in creating those fantastic items, parents helped make costumes as well as dressing the children, the office assistants for tickets and liaising with the wider community and finally the P&C for their support in organising fruit platters for the classrooms and some nibblies for intermission It was a great team effort which allowed our children to shine. Well done everyone! NAPLAN results for Years 3-5 The school has received our NAPLAN results for year 3 and 5 this week. These results are an excellent diagnostic tool which allow us to identify the strengths and areas for improvement for our students individually and as a whole school. Teachers spend significant amounts of time interpreting these results to

enhance the learning of our students and information on whole school trends will be provided at the next P & C meeting. Unfortunately there was a problem with the printing of the results for parents in Sydney and all reports needed to be redone which has meant we are unable to send results home until early next term. If you require further information about this please don’t hesitate to speak with me. Have a great holiday and we look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday 8th October
