SPECIAL LABOR DAY

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

ON Monday, Sep. 5th, Mass will

be in the Chapel at 8:30 AM. There will be no 6:00 PM Mass that evening. Also, there will be

NO ADORATION Monday, Sep 5th

, or Tuesday,

Sept 6th

, due to Labor Day.

Prayer for Labor Day

On this weekend, when we rest from our usual labors, loving Father, we pray for all who shoulder the tasks of human labor—in the marketplace, in factories and offices, in the professions, and in family living. We thank you, Lord, for the gift and opportunity of work; may our efforts always be pure of heart, for the good of others and the glory of your name. We lift up to you all who long for just employment and those who work to defend the rights and needs of workers everywhere. May those of us who are now retired always remember that we still make a valuable contribution to our Church and our world by our prayers and deeds of charity. May our working and our resting all give praise to you until the day we share together in eternal rest with all our departed in your Kingdom as you live and reign Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen

from the Archdiocese of Detroit

Congratulations to Deacon Dennis who will celebrate 15 years of ministry as a deacon on Thursday, September 8th 2016. We rejoice with Deacon Dennis on this special occasion and offer him our prayerful support as he continues his ministry in God’s vineyard.

Confirmation Coordinator

Due to family obligations our Confirmation Coordinator, Kiernan Smith, had to step down. We appreciate all that she did to awaken our young people to the working of the Holy Spirit in them.

The Confirmation Coordinator works in conjunction with the Director of Religious Education in coordinating the Sunday Confirmation classes for first year students (both English and Spanish speaking) as well as the once a month Decision Point sessions on Wednesday and possibly Tuesday evenings. He/she will also provide support for the twice a month 2nd year Wednesday evening Confirmation classes and assist with the retreat.

Hours range from 6-10 per week including preparation, set up and attendance at the evening sessions. Time period is August through May. Bilingual ability is a plus. Interested persons should contact the parish office for an application. For more information feel free to contact Jan at 256-353-2667 or [email protected].

Please consider that Annunciation of the Lord Church continues to be open for Mass, numerous activities and the Sacraments. During these summer months your generosity through Faith Direct can help provide the consistent resources we need to operate our parish and ministries.

Visit www.faithdirect.net and use our church code: AL724

Stewardship "For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has the resources to finish it.?" While we have delayed building our bell tower for now, our faith and our building fund contributions keep alive the expectations that it will eventually get built.

An easy way to support our school is to purchase gift cards (Scrip). You pay the face value of the card, however the school is able to purchase them at a slight discount - the difference goes to help our school. Scrip is available in the Gathering Space on the weekends after Mass.

2. Haber asistido a cuatro pláticas pre-quinceañerales
