Each year, The Gala For Bridging brings together more than 500 individuals, corporate donors and community partners who are committed to helping families get a fresh start. Imagine not having a bed to sleep on, a dresser to put clothes in or even a pillow on which to rest one’s head. Bridging alleviates the stresses of finding these things so households can focus on other important matters.

In this current environment, support for Bridging’s services is more important than ever.

As Bridging’s largest fundraiser of the year, this event is vital in supporting our mission to FURNISH HOMES WITH HOPE®. From our amazing silent auction items,

to our fun games and exhilarating live auction, guests will leave the beautiful Hilton Minneapolis ballroom feeling inspired to be a part of a real solution for families who are in transition from homelessness and poverty.

As families face the exhausting challenge of finding affordable and stable housing, employment, education and health care they are left with severely limited resources to furnish their home. Bridging services provide families a comfortable home and allow them to focus on other crucial matters in life. Clients are referred to Bridging through a network of more than 200 social service agency partners.

After visiting Bridging, many of our clients are able to sleep in a clean, warm bed for the first time and share a family meal around a dining table.

HOPE IS ESSENTIALIn 1987, Fran Heitzman saw a need in the community for

someone to be a bridge between people who have items they no longer need, and those people

who could use those items.

From the very first piece of donated furniture, to serving more than 4,500 households

each year, the impact Bridging has made in the lives of

local families in need, the environment, and its volunteer

community is monumental.
