Father Adam’s Final Letter

My Beloved Brothers and Sisters, Please allow me to say THANK YOU to all of you for making these last sixteen years as pastor of All Saints the happiest years of my priestly life. When I came here 16 years ago, I had no particular plans in mind, only to serve you by teaching the beauty and the richness of the truths of our Catholic faith that Jesus taught us. And in teaching and learning these truths the joy of the Gospel 'captures' us and we and grow into a deep desire to live the faith as Jesus called us to do. "I have come that you may have life, and that you may have it more abundantly." During these last 16 years the Holy Spirit has inspired and guided us in developing a plan to renovate our beautiful Church. The plan was made possible thru the prayers, hard

work, patience and generosity of you, the Peo-ple of God. this work shall stand as a testimo-ny of faith to inspire and strengthen God's People for generations to come. When Bro. Robert Lentz, O.F.M. was painting the icons, he often commented: "I want these icons to be an inspiration to those who see them a hundred years and beyond, especially the children." He always added the children. Already we can see are truly prophetic his words are. My shortcoming and failings were part of these years, too. The bible clearly reminds us that none of us is without sin; and priests are no exception. And for anyone who I may have

offended in any way, I beg their forgiveness and understanding and prayers. Our faith is celebrated and made manifest in the great prayer of the Eu-charist, the Liturgy of the Mass. It is here that we are "centered" on God, not on ourselves. Pope Benedict XVI clearly reminded us of this very important truth. The Eucharist deserves and is due the very best we have to give: our respect, our devo-tion and our very selves. The Eucha-rist is where we are called to fulfill the great prayer of Jesus, UNITY. "I pray that they may be ONE as the Father and I are ONE." This unity is about the love that Jesus desires for us and with us. the Eucharist is the Sacrament of Divine Lord, of Divine Intimacy. We know the power of hu-man love and human intimacy. Oh, how much more powerful is that divine intimacy with Him who loved as no one has ever loved and in-vites us into that union of love and intimacy with Himself. This is the Mystery of Faith. May it bring joy and lasting peace and hope to all of you and to all the world ! Amen...Blessings, Msgr. Adam
