What does it mean to take up our cross daily? To take up our cross daily means to accept from the hands of God all the sufferings and trials He wills or permits in our daily lives to imitate our Savior who died on the cross for love of us. “My son, if you come forward to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for temptation. Set your heart right and be steadfast, and do not be hasty in time of calamity. Cleave to him and do not depart, that you may be honored at the end of your life. Accept whatever is brought upon you, and in changes that humble you be patient. For gold is tested in the fire, and acceptable men in the furnace of humiliation.” (Sir. 2:1-5) Next week: What is meditation?

“The Blessed Virgin Mary’s soul was the space from which God was able to gain access into humanity.”

-Pope Benedict XVI

“Spiritual, moral and academic excellence under the patronage of St. Francis of Assisi”

St. Francis Catholic School Endowment Fund Due to the Pandemic, St. Francis Catholic School had to cancel our Endowment Brunch on April 26. St. Francis Catholic School's Endowment is invested for the purpose of using the interest earned to provide fi-nancial assistance for school families. At this time, St. Francis Catholic School has not missed a beat in educating all students. The teachers and students were informed on March 13th all schools were closing due to COVID19. On March 17th, St. Fran-cis Catholic School teachers were Distant Learning with their students. The faculty, staff, students, and par-ents were off and learning. St. Francis Catholic School is teaching to Archdiocesan and state standards and the students will receive letter grades at the end of the school year. We are asking for a donation to the endowment fund and/or to the tuition assistance fund to assist the school in not denying any student a Catholic education due to funding. We thank you for your continued support in the St. Francis Community. Please send donations to the parish office and specify if your donation is for the endowment fund or to the tuition assistance fund for the next school year. If you are unable to give financially at this time, please keep our students, parents and staff in your prayers. We will continue to keep the parishioners of St. Francis Parish in our prayers. If there are specific needs you would like us to pray for, please contact the school office. God bless and stay healthy, Ms. Gonzalez, Principal
