• Since 2010 until 2015 Latin NCAP assessed at least 59% of the sales volume considering only the 3 big markets: Argentina, Brazil and Mexico.
• As Latin NCAP tests the most basic variants in the market,
good performing cars benefit the markets where there is poor or lack of regulation.

Conclusions: Adult Occupant protection
Role of NCAPs in emerging marketsNCAPs in emerging markets are becoming a solid reference point and a powerful source of information for consumers and governments.
NCAPs highlighted the importance and need of performance based regulations and the need of a solid control of those regulations
Car manufacturers can produce the latest platforms and improve their structures in short time but they can also remove reinforcements in short time as well.

Body shell integrity is critical for the protection of occupants. Without adequate body shell strength
there is no point in fitting airbags.

General Conclusions - Recommendations
Global NCAP recommends Indian government to adopt Regulation UN94 (frontal crash protection) as mandatory for all cars.
Global NCAP strongly recommends a BHARAT NCAP to perform the frontal crash test at 64km/h
