ALBA 2012 Record Award. Announcement

The Bolivarian Alliance for the People of the Our America (ALBA, after its initials in Spanish), through its Multinational Project ALBA Cultural, calls to the Premio Discográfico ALBA 2012 (ALBA 2012 Record Award), which will be given to the Latin American and Caribbean Record Production selected as the most relevant in the period, among the ones presented in competition.

CONDITIONSA) About registration and remittance of competing works:

1-Musical productions that compete for the Premio Discográfico ALBA 2012, must have been published between the 1st of January 2010 and the 31 of December 2011. The 30 of January 2012 is the deadline for the presentation of competing records.

2 -Record Productions must be accompanied by:

- Registration Form, where must be specified the title of the record, the record company and the support code, interpreter, author, information of the musical producer, compiler and the person who works as applicant of the presented records.

- Three (3) copies of each of the production with its correspondent sworn statement that certifies the edition date and circulation of the productions as well as the original country of the production.

3- The applicant of the competing work, no matter if its a natural persona or a producing house, must present, during the registration, the corresponding certifications that credit him for that event, with which he assumes entire responsibility and release the Committee of the ALABA 2012 Record Award and ALBA Cultural and any other institution created for the organization and execution of the Award, of any demand that can be originated.4-The address to send the record is:

5 - Once the productions are registered they cannot be withdraw from the competition. The competing works will be part of the record archives of ALBA Cultural.

6 - The registration in the competition implies the acceptance of its Conditions. Each competitor will be responsible for fulfill what is stipulated in these conditions. The Award Committee, the jury, the ALBA Record Network and all the parts that are working in the ALBA 2012 Record Award, are exonerated from any violation committed by the record producers of the presented and competing works.B) About admission, nomination and Award:1- The ALBA 2012 Record Award will consider the quality and integrality of the record presented to the event and not the work, trajectory, relevance as part of the music and culture or any other of the several virtues the artists and creators which works are on competition can have can have.

7- The ALBA 2012 Record Award will have a specialized Committee, with the participation of several members of the ALBA Record Network for Latin America and the Caribbean, co – sponsor of the ALBA 2012 Record Award. The Committee will have the mission of identifying the inscription of the presented works and will nominate twenty (20) finalists which will be presented to the international jury that will select the winning work of the ALBA 2012 Record Award.

8-Nominations will be made public first of all via internet and e-mail in March 2012.

9-The Award Committee once published the twenty (20) nominated records to the 2012 ALBA Record Award. Will call a Jury, made by recognized artists and professionals of the record industry, who will have the responsibility of select among the twenty (20) nominations the award winning work, as well as up to five mentions.

10-The voters who are linked someway to some of the nominated productions cannot be part of the jury, nor exercise their vote in those events. In case, by some mistake it occur, their vote will be cancelled.

11-The decision of the Jury will be unappealable and they can leave the Award empty, as well as decide about the Mentions stipulated in these Conditions.

12-The 2012 ALBA Record Award will receive a Diploma and an amount of ten thousand US Dollars (10,000 USD), given to the applicants according to the current regulations of the Cultural ALBA Fund and the regulations of their home country.

13-The records that won a Mention will receive a certificate. Each mention will also receive two thousand US Dollars (2,000 USD), given to the applicants according to the current regulations of the Cultural ALBA Fund and the regulations of their home country.

14-The 2012 ALBA Record Award and the mentions will be made public during the Awarding Ceremony which will be held in in May 2012.
