I am originally from Poland. I have been here in the USA for 35 years. I have lived here longer than I lived in Poland, so I consider America my home.

I came here to be with my immediate and extended family and start a new life.

WHAT EXPERIENCES FROM YOUR LIFE BACK HOME HELP YOU EVERY DAY HERE IN THE USA?

Knowing other languages.

WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BUSINESS?

I have had my business for 21 years. When I started, this industry was growing very fast. It was a great opportunity to get into.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF RUNNING YOUR BUSINESS?

My favorite part is trying to keep up with the technology. Every year something new comes up and it’s very exciting.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU MISS HOME?

I am fortunate that most of my family is here, but I have Polish television,

newspapers, stores, concerts and more when I miss Poland. If you want, you can always be in touch with your people and culture.

HOW IMPORTANT TO YOU IS BEING ABLE TO COMMUNICATE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS BACK HOME?

For me it isn’t that important, but I can see how important that is to our customers. To chat with a beloved sister, check on a sick mother or father. To talk to a doctor at the hospital concerning a family member. To try to live their day-to-day lives with them. Communication today is so easy—it’s like the world shrank. I still remember how expensive it was to call 30 or even 20 years ago. Now, you can call every day to check what your mom is having for dinner.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST EVERYDAY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR HOME AND THE USA?

The slower pace. People have more time to enjoy life, family and friends. More vacations, longer holidays.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BEST EXPERIENCE SO FAR IN THE USA?

For me it has been adding new aspects to my business and meeting so many wonderful people. //

WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT THE DECISIONS MADE BY A BRAND MANAGER AFFECT OUR RETAILERS?

A Brand Manager should focus on how the product affects everyone it touches. OurRetailers aren’t just a way to get products sold. They are crucial customers too, whoneed to be considered. How fast, fun and easy the process is for them, how well the product fits their customers, and how they are treated matters.

IN WHAT WAYS DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP RETAILERS TOP OF MIND IN YOUR DAY-TO-DAY AT ULTRA?

Having worked with Indirect Wireless Retailers for some time, considering their struggles and strengths is second nature to me. Whether discussing new ideas or improving current products, I consider how to most positively affect and leverage them.

WHEN DID YOU BECOME AN ULTRA AND WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST CHANGES YOU’VE SEEN SINCE THEN?

I’ve been an Ultra for a little over a year and the biggest change I’ve seen is the organization becoming more collaborative. It’s been great to see how our ideas improve when people from all different parts of the team (including our Retailers!) can add their perspectives.

ULTRA MOBILE HAS SEEN A LOT OF CHANGES IN 2017, FROM EXPANDING THE CLASSIC LINE TO INTRODUCING ULTRA FLEX FAMILY AND ULTRA FLEX. WHAT HAS GIVEN YOU THE GREATEST FEELING OF ACCOMPLISHMENT?

I’m most proud of our focus on the Retailer experience with the Ultra Flex products. Wecreated a revolutionary product that would resonate with customers and Retailers. Flexhas the most aggressive comp model since calling cards, the industry’s first AutoRecharge model that keeps Retailers whole even if their customers sign up on their own, as well as the most effective videos and selling aids in Ultra’s history.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WHEN YOU’RE NOT BEING ULTRA?

I like to mix things up. For hobbies, I’ll do whatever I’m passionate about for a time and move on when I’m ready for something new.

ULTRA MOBILE IS A GLOBAL BRAND. WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE PLACE ON THIS PLANET OF OURS AND WHY?

Two places stick out to me most. First, I love Cartagena, Colombia for the people, the history, the food and its laid-back culture. Plus, it’s cheap! Second, I’ve spent severalmonths in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa in the bush helping with anti-poaching efforts.Living off the land in the world’s largest nature conservatory with one of the largestRhino populations was a true blessing.

WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS FOR ULTRA MOBILE FOR THE REST OF 2017?

Ultra will continue to become more competitive. Further, as a team we will continue to refine our products so that they benefit our Retailers and their customers even more. Be on the lookout for continuous innovations and refinement through the end of the year! //
