Note:

• The mirror supplied can be fitted to either theleft hand or right hand side of the handlebar.Rotate the mirror head to suit.

• The method of fitting the bar end mirror kits isdifferent for motorcycles fitted with stem stylemirrors as standard fitment, to those fittedwith bar end mirrors as standard fitment.Follow the appropriate instructions below.

Street Twin, Street Scrambler up to VIN 970470 Models Only

1. Remove the original mirror from the chosenside of the motorcycle. Pull back the rubberboot and unscrew the mirror assembly with thestem adaptor. Retain the mirror and fixings ifthe motorcycle is to be returned to its originalcondition.

Note:

• When the right hand mirror is removed thebrake fluid reservoir and its mounting bracketwill become detached. Taking care not to invertthe reservoir, hold the assembly in its originalposition while fitting the M10 fixing.

WarningThe accessory kits covered in this instruction aredesigned for use on specific models of Triumphmotorcycle. The accessory kits and the modelsapplicable are listed at the start of the instruction.They should not be fitted to any other Triumphmodel or to any other manufacturer’s motorcycle.Fitting an accessory kit to a Triumph model notlisted, or to any other manufacturer’s motorcyclewill affect the performance, stability and handlingof the motorcycle. This may affect the rider’sability to control the motorcycle and may result inloss of motorcycle control and an accident.

WarningThroughout this operation, ensure that themotorcycle is stabilised and adequately supportedto prevent risk of injury from the motorcyclefalling.

WarningA torque wrench of known accurate calibrationmust be used when fitting this accessory kit.Failure to tighten any of the fasteners to thecorrect torque specification may affect motorcycleperformance, handling and stability. This mayresult in loss of motorcycle control and anaccident.

CautionTo prevent any body damage, do not spill brakefluid onto any area of bodywork.

2. If fitting a right hand mirror, ensure the brakefluid reservoir is correctly positioned. Fit theM10 x 12 mm screw provided, through the brakefluid reservoir mounting bracket, into the righthand original mirror mounting point. Tighten to25 Nm.

3. If fitting a left hand mirror, fit the M10 plasticplug provided into the original left hand mirrormounting point threaded hole.

5. Fit an M8 plastic plug, if provided in the kit, intothe original mirror mounting point hole.

WarningWhen fitting the mirror assembly onto thehandlebar friction ring, ensure there is sufficientclearance between the mirror and throttle grip.Failure to allow clearance could restrict the freemovement of the throttle grip and prevent correctthrottle operation. Riding a motorcycle when thereis any doubt as to any aspect of the performanceof the throttle operation may result in loss ofmotorcycle control and an accident.

WarningMove the handlebars to left and right full lockwhile checking that cables and harnesses do notbind. Cables or harnesses that bind will restrictthe steering and may result in loss of motorcyclecontrol and an accident.

WarningIf the mirror fixing is too loose the mirror mayblow back at speed. This will result in a loss ofvision to the rear of the motorcycle. It’s dangerousto ride a motorcycle without sufficient rearwardvision.

14. Fit a new flat style bar end finisher onto thehandlebar and retain with the M6 x 20 mmcountersunk head screw from the bar endfinisher kit. Tighten the screw to 5 Nm.

10. Refit the original, or purchased Accessory barend finisher and retain with the M6 x 20 mmcountersunk head screw from the bar endfinisher kit. Tighten the screw to 5 Nm.

11. Repeat steps 3 to 6 if fitting a bar end mirror tothe opposite side of the motorcycle.

Note:

• The original flat style bar end finisher is notsuitable for use when a bar end mirror has beenremoved. A new cup style finisher kit must beused. There are a number of different colourcup style bar end finisher kits available. Referto the Triumph Accessory Catalogue for details.

12. If only one accessory bar end mirror is fitted, fita new cup style bar end finisher onto the sideof the handlebar without a bar end mirror.Retain with the M6 x 20 mm countersunk headscrew from the bar end finisher kit. Tighten thescrew to 5 Nm.

All Models

1. Carefully check that the twist grip rotatessmoothly through its full range of movement,and is not restricted in any way. If anytightness or resistance is felt, check and rectifythe cause before riding the motorcycle.

2. Fully engage both the clutch and brake leversand check that the levers do not contact thebar end mirrors. If the operation of the clutchor brake levers is restricted in any way bycontact with the bar end mirrors, rectify thecause before riding the motorcycle.

WarningCheck the operation of the twist grip. Ensure thatthe rearward and forward movement of the grip issmooth, without tightness and will return to thethrottle closed position when released.

A tight or stuck twist grip may result in loss ofmotorcycle control and an accident.

WarningFully engage both the clutch and brake levers andcheck that the levers do not contact the bar endmirrors. If the levers do contact the bar endmirrors clutch engagement and braking force willbe restricted and may result in loss of motorcyclecontrol and an accident.

WarningAfter fitting the accessory kit the motorcycle willexhibit new handling characteristics. Operate themotorcycle in a safe area free from traffic to gainfamiliarity with any new characteristics. Operationof the motorcycle when not familiar with any newhandling characteristics may result in loss ofmotorcycle control and an accident.

WarningIf, after fitting this accessory kit, you have anydoubt about the performance of any aspect of themotorcycle, contact an authorised Triumph dealerand do not ride the motorcycle until theauthorised dealer has declared it fit for use. Ridinga motorcycle when there is any doubt as to anyaspect of the performance of the motorcycle mayresult in loss of motorcycle control and anaccident.

WarningNever ride an accessory-equipped motorcycle atspeeds above 80 mph (130 km/h).

The presence of accessories will cause changes inthe stability and handling of the motorcycle.Failure to allow for changes in motorcycle stabilitymay result in loss of motorcycle control and anaccident. Remember that the 80 mph (130 km/h)limit will be reduced by the fitting of non-approvedaccessories, incorrect loading, worn tyres, overallmotorcycle condition and poor road or weatherconditions.

WarningThe motorcycle must not be operated above thelegal road speed limit except in closed-courseconditions.

WarningOnly operate this Triumph motorcycle at highspeed in closed-course, on-road competition or onclosed-course racetracks. High-speed operationshould only be attempted by riders who have beeninstructed in the techniques necessary for highspeed riding and are familiar with the motorcycle’scharacteristics in all conditions.

High-speed operation in any other circumstancesis dangerous and may result in loss of motorcyclecontrol and an accident.
