STEEP SLOPES

It is very important to anchor the Nomow on a steep slope to prevent the Nomow from creeping down the slope over a period of time. Using the galvanized nails, fix along the upper edge at 300mm centres, 50mm in from the edge of the carpet, making sure the angle of fixing does not lean towards the slope. If the slope if greater than 45 degrees, the Nomow will need to be fixed to a solid beam at the top of the slope using screws with 25mm washers at 250mm centres.

CONCRETE AND MACADAM SURFACES

Remove any loose debris and make sure the surface is dry. No Geotextile will be required. Place the carpet in the correct position, joint if necessary and trim all edges. Pull back the carpet exposing the concrete/macadam base and apply adhesive in long stips 25mm wide at 250mm centres in the direction of the slope of the concrete or macadam. (This will enable any water filtering through the carpet to run between the beads of adhesive.) Please bear in mind that if the existing base holds water now, it will still hold water – there must be a fall/slope for effective drainage. Carefully roll out the carpet onto the concrete and apply pressure to adhere the carpet to the adhesive beneath. Do not walk on or apply the rubber infill until the adhesive has cured. When laid directly onto an existing concrete or macadam base as described above, Nomow lawn does not comply to the standard 1M critical fall height. You would need to lay a 35mm compacted grit sand base.

Carefully cut open a bag of spread evenly over surface rubber granules.

Brush the granules until they are bedded into the carpet.
