How LONG are .....Whales ??

Cut the pocket out and fold to form (a pocket). Glue the back down onto the lapbook. Using the measurements on the next page, cut length of strings to the appropriate length for each whale. Cut out the labels from the next page and attach to the correct string. Keep strings in the pocket.

Cut shape out as one piece and fill in the classifications on each flap. Fold flaps and tuck the last flap under so the book will stay closed.

Glue this back page to the lapbook.

Cut on solid lines and fold all pages on the dotted lines with the print to the outside. As-semble books so that the cover is on the front and staple through the cover. Write your own ‘Whale of a Tale’ story (encouraging exaggeration)!

Punch holes where indicated and fold on dotted lines so that the title shows. Inside, draw and label the anatomy of a whale. To secure, thread a string of ribbon through the holes and tie in a bow on the front. (On the next page is a picture of a whale naming it’s parts as a reference.)

Cut pockets our and fold back flap up and wrap side flaps around the back and glue down. Glue the back of your pocket into your lapbook. Cut out cards from the next 2 pages to use in writing what they have learned in the research of different types of whales.

Cut book out on solid lines and fold on the dotted line. The map will be on the in-side of the book. Using colored pencils, mark the migration routes of different whales. Print a legend on the flap above the map. Paste the picture on the outside flap of the book.
