STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

PRAYER

CONFESSION AND PARDON Loving God, Lord of life: when we stand at the edge of eternity and bid farewell to a loved one, we are especially aware of the many ways we have fallen short. Death reminds us that we have taken the gift of life for granted, both the lives of our loved ones, and our own lives. We have presumed to claim life as our own, only to misuse it in many ways. Lord, forgive us. The life you have given us we now give back to you. Take us, and use us to your glory. For we pray in the name of our risen Savior. Amen.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH – The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures;

1. Come, thou Fount of every blessing; tune my heart to sing thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above; Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, mount of God’s unchanging love!
