IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY the defibrillator and first aid box are located in the west hall of the main building next to the women’s restroom. THE SESSION has called a congregational meeting for today, July 12, following the 11 a.m. worship service for the purpose of electing church officers. PRAYER CARDS Intercessory Prayer Hour will meet in the parlor at 11:30 a.m. each Wednesday morning. Everyone is welcome to join in prayer at that time, either in person with the group in the parlor or privately. Requests for prayer can be made known by using the prayer cards in the pew racks or on line (www.dcpc.org). Those requests are made known to those who gather for the time of silent intercessory prayer at 11:30 a.m. each Wednesday morning. OUR SUMMER THEME is “Come to the Waters!” As you travel this summer, send us your photos of water and attach a verse from Scripture to Julie at [email protected]. We will use them in our bulletins, on the screen in Lingle Chapel, on our Facebook page, and in other DCPC communications. 20’s AND 30’s GATHERING – aka – Young Adults! Our 20’s and 30’s will meet this Monday, July 13 at 7 p.m. at the Brick House in Davidson. Hope to see you there. DCPC YOUTH Here’s an opportunity for us to gather just to touch base between all of the various trips and vacations. The plan is to meet on Thursdays for lunch. Whoever is able to come is welcome! If you’re in town any of these Thursdays, please plan on meeting for lunch. These will be extremely informal – just a chance for everyone to catch up with each other, eat, and hang out! We’ll meet at a different local restaurant each time, so let me know your favorites! I’ll send out emails and texts to remind you before each one. Somewhere fairly close - not too far to drive, easy for everyone to find, and inexpensive! Send me your suggestions by email ([email protected]) or text (704- 516-6171). JULY IS NATIONAL ICE CREAM MONTH! To celebrate, we are having a Common Grounds Cafe on Saturday July 25 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Congregation House. Bring a potluck (main or side) dish to share and your favorite Ice cream topping. We will provide drinks and the ice cream. This will also be a Game Night! We will have some Pictionary fun and also a variety of board games to enjoy. Fun for all ages! WOMEN’S RETREAT Attention All Women! Our annual retreat to Montreat is September 18-20, William Black Lodge. We look forward to welcoming the Rev. Mary Margaret Porter as our leader. Standing at the Corner of Faith and Fear will help us explore the Parable of the Talents and step out in faith, trusting God. Brochures are available in the Information Center. Please note that full payment must accompany registration to reserve a spot. Limited financial assistance is available. Email Leslee Kirkconnell ([email protected]) with questions, but plan to join us for this wonderful time apart just for women! BACK-TO-SCHOOL BACK-PACK DRIVE FOR AMIGOS Consider providing a back-pack full of school supplies for a child in need. In a few weeks the sales will start for Back to School. Many of our neighbors in Huntersville have difficulty providing their children with the proper tools to help them succeed in school. Please consider buying a school backpack and filling it for a child. Choose a boy or girl, grades Kindergarten-5th grade, or you may make a donation and we will do the shopping for you. You may also write a note of encouragement to include in the backpack. Backpacks are due Sunday August 16 and will be dedicated during our 11 a.m. worship service. They will be given to families at the Amigos Back to School event on August 17. Questions, please call or email Robert Alexander ([email protected]) or Rosemary Klein ([email protected]). Thank you for your help!

Davidson College Presbyterian Church is an Earth Care and Stephen Ministry

congregation on the corner of campus and community.

This congregation celebrates partnerships in Christ with the Sigona Presbyterian

Church in Kikuyu, Kenya, and the Kilambe communities in Jinotega, Nicaragua and

Blythe Elementary School in Huntersville, NC. Together we seek to grow in

witnessing to Christ in a complex world and to learn more about how to respond

as disciples to the great needs of the world.
