DCPC IS SEEKING a nurturing individual to assume the role of Nursery Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for coordinating our nursery staff and providing a welcoming and loving place for God's little ones. This position requires the individual to be present on Sunday mornings and some evenings as needed, as well as arranging for other paid staff and volunteers to be scheduled as required/requested. Please speak to Jenny Alexander or go to www.dcpc for additional information.

WILDCAT BUILD DCPC is partnering with Davidson College on a special Habitat for Humanity house right here in the heart of our Davidson Community. This “Wildcat Build” will break ground on February 13 just in time for Valentine’s Day. DCPC has committed to providing $25,000 toward the project and needs your help to reach this goal and to show our neighbors in need how much we care about them this Valentines’ season. To make a donation, please note on your offering check that the funds are for the “DCPC Wildcat Build” or choose “DCPC Habitat House” from the drop down menu on the online giving portal of the DCPC website.

Covenant (9:45 a.m. Congregation House) January 17, 24, and 31 Tony Abbott, Professor Emeritus of English at Davidson College, will teach “The Still, Small Voice of Grace: The Gilead trilogy of Marilynne Robinson.” Many scholars of literature and religion consider Marilynne Robinson the most important contemporary religious novelist in America. We will look at her prize-winning trilogy — Gilead, Home and Lila — and explore just what it is about her work that creates such passionate praise and excitement.

Jubilee (9:45 a.m. Jetton Hall) The Jubilee Class is partnering with Presbyterian Women to offer “Water and the Word," a series for the five Sundays in January in Jetton Hall at the 9:45 Sunday School hour. The series will first evaluate water’s role in our everyday lives and then explore the role and symbolism of water in scripture. This study complements Presbyterian Women's current year-long focus, "Come to the Waters." We invite all interested persons to attend. Included are the following areas:

Water in Our Daily Lives: natural resource, water process, affordability, conservation, planned development, stewardship, and philanthropy

Water in Our Daily Lives: natural resource, water process, affordability, conservation, planned development, stewardship, and philanthropy

Water in Scripture (adapted from "Come to the Waters," published by Horizons: the Magazine for Presbyterian Women)

Maloney (9:45 a.m. Parlor) The Pines (Marshall Room) Jan. 17: An Unfaithful Bride: Hosea 1 Jan. 24: A Wedding in Cana: John 2:1-12 Jan. 31: The Death of a Friend: John 11:38-44

The Wired Word (11:00 a.m. Parlor) Each week we will have an opportunity to discuss a current event with the help of Biblical and theological resources. Those who wish may have the upcoming topic emailed to them prior to class—send a request email to [email protected]. All High School age and Adults are welcome to get some coffee in the tent and come to the parlor for lively discussion.

If Jesus could transform

common water into wedding wine

spit and dirt into new sight troubled sea

into a pathway well water

into living water Could Christ transform

the waters of my life shallow murky

polluted stagnant

sour into a shower of blessing?
