FEBRUARY 2018 Your Arbor Acres Wellness Arts Team has been busy planning for 2018, and appreciate your participation in our January kick off. Thank you for your positive feedback and comments! Those who attended the Wellness Fair on January 4 saw our beautiful new Wellness logo larger than life on the big screen. The new logo reflects all the dimensions of wellness you've heard so much about, and was inspired by the Council of Elders stone sculpture located in front of Asbury Place. In the sculpture each stone column represents a specific dimension of wellness. The Wellness Arts Team will offer programming to highlight one of the eight dimensions of wellness each month in 2018. This month we are focusing on the Physical dimension. In the coming months, watch for programming for each of the following dimensions. Physical: Caring for your body and recognizing the need for physical activity, choosing a healthy diet and getting adequate sleep Social: Developing a sense of connection, belonging, and a well-developed social support system Financial: Understanding and planning for financial prosperity and legal security Environmental: Discovering awareness of how your behavior impacts the earth and how the physical world impacts you; a commitment to a healthy and sustainable environment 8 Dimensions of Wellness Watch for these logos throughout the coming year as they highlight Wellness events you will not want to miss! Occupational: Developing a sense of your strengths, skills, values and interests for your career, mentoring or volunteer work Spiritual: Discovering and expanding your sense of purpose and meaning in life Emotional: Managing your emotions in a constructive way; understanding and respecting your own feelings, values and attitudes; appreciating the feelings of others Intellectual: Maintaining a curiosity for learning; recognizing creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills See page two for a listing of this month's offerings and mark these events on your calendar!
