Easy handling, maximum comfort.
clino phon 21 opens new paths for
care communication within hospitals
and nursing homes setting standards
for nurse call, patient-nurse commu-
nication and audio transmission, as
well as TV and radio control. User-
friendly terminals and components
add value to staff and patients by
their excellent and outstanding
functionality and design.
Specifically for centralized care con-
cepts, clino phon 21 offers first class
digital communication, discreet and
hands-free between the staff and
patients. Using standard compo-
nents and terminals the system can
be extended to the multimedia com-
munication system clino com 21.
Using the same general infrastructure
and control units clino phon 21 offers
a simple upgrade route for the ser-
vice integrating clino com 21.

The bed electronic
• Call button for the nurse call
• Cancel button, offering the optional
opportunity of cancelling the pending
call from bedside individually
• Autorelease socket for the
connection of the patient handset or
pear / multiple push buttons
• Loudspeaker and microphone for
digital handsfree individual speech
per bed, in the case that a pear or
multiple push button is used –
the perfect solution not only within
centralized systems.
• 7-pole socket for the connection of
alternatively:
-- parallel pear or multiple push buttons
-- noise sensors
-- pneumatic call units e.g. for people
affected in their mobility.
• 6-pole socket with galvanic
separation according to EN 60950 for
the connection of medical devices
such as infusion pumps etc.

A large variety of system interfaces
integrate the care communication
system clino phon 21 in the commu-
nication infrastructure of its installati-
on environment. In particular the cost
for separate radio distribution can be
saved because the cabling of clino
phon 21 already supports the distri-
bution of up to 16 radio channels. The
central radio source is fed into an
audio interface of a data manage-
ment processor and is converted into
high-quality digital radio signals for a
high-class transmission. The data
management processor is the central
interface to the nurse call server and
at the same time represents the cen-
tral control unit for up to 2 wards.
Together with the standard connection
options of paging and DECT systems
for the alarming of the medical or

technical service, other security rele-
vant systems such as fire detection or
intrusion alarm systems can be con-
nected to clino phon 21. Of course,
call logging and call evaluation, the
graphical call indication on a central
or local ward PC are part of the stan-
dard functionality of this comprehen-
sive communication system for pro-
fessional care.
System overview
• Hierarchic network structure
(room bus, ward bus, backbone)
• Loop structure of the bus systems
(permanent function control of the
components)
• Small distances between the
devices allow plastic fibre cable
(POF-cable) for time saving
installation
• Standardized system interfaces
(easy connection of non-propietary
systems such as IT, paging,
DECT, fire alarm systems ....)
• Extensive network management
tools (remote control, performant
maintenance and analysis tools)
