Sunday, August 9 - Sermon Text: Act 17:1-9 “Paul & Silas in Thessalonia”

Bloomfield Baptist Family:

“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together

in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13)

In recent weeks, a series of videos has been released that ex-

pose the sale of body parts, organs and tissue of aborted babies

by Planned Parenthood. Outrage over the videos prompted a

bill in the U.S. Senate that would have defunded Planned Par-

enthood of the $540 million in federal funding it currently re-

ceives. Sadly, there were not enough votes to move this bill

forward.

Since 1973, there have been approximately 60 million legally

induced abortions in the Unites States. 21% of all pregnancies

in our country (excluding miscarriages) now end in abortion. 3

in 10 women will have an abortion by the age of 45.

As the church of Jesus Christ, we need to stand up and be voice

for these unborn children. We need to pray that God will pierce

the hearts of citizens, legislators, abortion clinic workers, and

parents in crisis who are considering this horrific procedure. We

need to pray that God will move in their hearts, and in our

hearts, to help us understand the value of every single life.

As the church of Jesus Christ, we need to extend love and care

to women who think that abortion is their only reasonable course

of action. We need to adopt and fund adoptions. We need pro-

mote, fund and staff organizations that provide resources that

promote life.

Locally, the New Life Center in Bardstown is a resource that

does just that. They work with families to show them the love of

Christ and to promote the value of life. You can learn more

about them at their website (thenewlifecenter.com) or by calling

502-233-8003.

Please join me in praying for the ministry of the New Life Center

and in praying for the lives of the unborn.
