You don't want to start advertising your clinic if you are unprepared to do the treatments.

The training is theoretical, meaning you may not learn where or what equipment you need

to practice aesthetics.

As an aesthetic clinician you will require a variety of equipment, ranging from needles to a

mirror. It is important that you have a way of transporting these items - such as a salon

briefcase.

Step 2: Finding Your Route to MarketWhat is Route to Market?

Your route to market is how you plan to sell your product to your customers. It's one of

the most important things to get right.

There are two main routes you can take to enter the market:

1.1. The first way this can be done is by working in a beauty salon, this concept is similar to

a hairdresser hiring a chair in a salon, where you'll commission the salon for client

referrals or hire a space.

From this you can, meet new potential clients and have a strong referral from an

established and trusted brand. A great way to build your first client base.

2.2. The second route you can take is to try and build your aesthetics business from your

own home using your current network or current practice. You can utilise your own

relations such as friends and family to be your advocates by having treatment,

showcasing your work and spreading the word for you.

To get your first customer you need to be prepared to do marketing and advertise your

brand.

There are a number of ways you can market your brand but the most cost effective is

social media. With social media, the only time you will be expected to pay any money is

when you are creating ads that you want to be boosted or targeted to certain people.

If you are posting good quality content online, for example, all of your images are HD or

the captions are engaging, it shows that you care about your brand and want to shout

about it.

Step 4: Creating a Business PlanPlanning is a crucial part in the process of creating your business. Having a detailed plan

means that you can have confidence that you are going to be successful because you

have taken the time to consider all outcomes.

Financial planning also needs to be considered as you need to know how much of your

budget is being spent and where (see next section).

Below are a couple of questions you should consider when planning for your business:

1. What is your treatment value?

2. How much profit can I make per customer?

3. How many clients do I need to see per week?

4. How much should I re-invest?

If you don't know how to answer these questions or need help creating a business plan, if

you look online there are plenty of resources along with free templates you can use to get

started.

pricing based on the current market place without considering the running cost of your

salon, you may cause yourself problems.

The price you provide doesn't only effect whether your business is making a profit or not,

but it can affect the type of clients you are getting. If you have cheap prices you may get

clients who only visit your salon once as they are driven by the cheapest prices in the

area.

If you pitch your prices above the industry standards, you will appeal to people who are

not only willing to spend more money, but who are looking for quality and to build a

relationship with there clinician.
