Experience the Orangutans and their natural habitat with Safari Tours & Travel Day 01: Airport – Kumai – Houseboat (L, D) Upon arrival in Pangkalan Bun Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide for a direct transfer to Kumai to reach your houseboat. Onboard crossing Kumai River for approximately 15 minutes to the main river named Sekonyer River. While boating up Sekonyer River you can see Borneo wildlife such as Orangutan, Proboscis Monkey (Long -nosed monkey), Macaque, Langur, and lots of birds. In the late afternoon or in the morning after waking up, and if you are lucky enough you might see Hornbills flying across the forest canopy. Enjoy your time on board. In the late afternoon the houseboat will bring you up to see more Proboscis monkey around the river bank. This is your time to observe, learn, and understand them further from your guide. Lunch and dinner on board. Day 02: Houseboat – Pasalat Camp – Camp Leakey – Houseboat (B, L, D) After breakfast, proceed up the river to Pasalat Camp, here you will hiking up on the board walk for about 800 meters then continue for 200 meters on paths. In this camp you will have a chance to plant an endemic fruit tree for the orangutans and this is also part of the carbon offset program. The tree you plant will be a fruit tree for the orangutan. When the trees grow up, the sun light coming into the trees will start the photosynthesis process. From this process the tree will produce oxygen, and the oxygen is the payment to all the carbon we produce in our whole life. Then you will return back to the houseboat and boating up directly to Camp Leakey. Lunch will provided on board. Then you will visit the Orangutan information center to see the research activities done by Dr. Birute Galdikas. At 2 pm you will visit the orangutan feeding area. Enjoy your time until 3 pm. Then back to the houseboat and boating down the river to find the place to anchor the houseboat. Dinner and overnight in the houseboat. Day 03: Houseboat - Pondok Tangguy – Tanjung Harapan Village – Tanjung Harapan Camp – Houseboat (B, L, D) After breakfast, boating down the river to the second station called Pondok Tangguy (Tangguy Hut). It will take about 1 1/2 hours by boat. Upon arrival in Pondok Tangguy jetty we will continue trekking up to the camp to see the orangutan feeding at 9 am, stay for about 1 hour then continue with the boat down to Tanjung Harapan Vil- lage to see the Malayan settlement activities in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided on board then at 3 pm go across to Tanjung Harapan Camp to see the last orangutan feeding for about 1 hour. Then it is back to the boat and traveling down directly to Nipa Palm area to see thousands of fireflies. Dinner and overnight on board. Day 04: Houseboat – Kumai – Airport (B) After breakfast, boating down to Kumai then transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport for your next destination. Includes: AC cabin and/or deck accommodation in the boat (twin share), airport transfers, all meals as stated in the itinerary (from lunch on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 4), English speaking guide, entrance permits and donation for Tanjung Puting National Park.
