1. Progress / Issues

Work carried out to date includes: Appointment of sub-contractors. Programming, shop-drawing preparation and material ordering. Installation of underground site services. Foundations completed on 3 June 2010. Ground beams progressing quickly. The foyer floor slab completed in three pours - with the last portion on 18 June 2010. Precast concrete manufacture off site - 97 panels. 64 of these panels have been installed on site. EBOP earthworks consent monitoring compliance is "high". No adverse health and safety issues have occurred. A recent health & safety compliance audit recorded a 94.7% score. Radio station breakfast show broadcast from site. Building Services

Co-ordination of site services - Electrical, mechanical, drainage, data, security and plumbing has fallen behind schedule. This is largely a Contractor responsibility but it does create project risks as the supply of late information has the potential to cause clashes and delays. Hawkins has engaged additional people to assist.

Planned Action for Next Month

Wastewater pumpstation construction. Shop drawing preparation for mechanical and electrical componentry. Ordering of materials. Continuation of foundations. Further ground beams and floor slabs. Precast concrete delivery, installation and continuing manufacture. Manufacture of structural steelwork. Site visit for Committee members and key users. Early FF & E (furniture, fixtures and equipment) actions. Netting system selection and basketball backboard systems. Liaison with TCVL to ensure continued site operations without undue interruptions. 14 August is the BOP Steamer's first ITM cup home fixture.

3.1 Risk Schedule

A copy of the project risk schedule is attached.

3.2 Emerging Risk

Now that foundation construction is completed the most concerning project risk remaining is considered to be the potential failure to manage project costs within the overall budget.

3.3 Project Timel ine

The due date for completion of Hawkin's contract is 22 July 2011. FF & E installation will follow this. Critical path items are currently five weeks behind schedule. Hawkins is endeavouring to make up some of this time and finish ten days behind schedule.

3.4 Financial and Funding

Projected expenditure for the project remains at $39M, rather than the $41M budgeted. This is as reported at time of tender acceptance.

For the construction contract (TC76/08) an over-expenditure of approximately $647K is currently anticipated, based on construction variations issued to date. Action has be^n taken to limit further call on the remaining budget contingency funding.
