Dear Parents and Community Wow, I cannot believe we are already in Week 8. This term is flying by and before we know it, we’ll all be celebrating Christmas with our friends and family. I trust that everyone’s harvest is going smoothly and the warmer weather has been welcomed. Reports & Parent/Teacher Interviews Our staff have been very busy the last couple of weeks writing reports. A lot of time and effort goes into writing detailed reports that outline your child’s strengths whilst providing constructive feedback in order to improve their educational outcomes. Reports will be given to children on the last Wednesday of term; the 14 th of December. I know that some of you have been into school to meet with the teaching staff to discuss your child’s report and I thank you for this. If possible, it is important to meet with your child’s teacher before reports are administered as it gives you an opportunity to understand your child’s grades and effort so there are no surprises. If you have not done so already, I encourage you to make an appointment with your child’s teacher. Concert Families and community members are invited to attend our end of year concert being held on Friday the 9th of December, commencing at 7.00 pm. It is an important night for our school and community as it allows us to recognise our children’s efforts throughout the year whilst thanking our staff, parents, community members, P&C and donors for their hard efforts and achievements throughout the year. I know our students and staff have been busily rehearsing and are excited for the big night. Miling Mates Today was our second last Miling Mates session for 2016. Miss Shannon Jeffers organised Sue Lefroy, the School Nurse to attend today and run an OT session which was very valuable by all accounts. Our Miling Mate students will attend their final day next Tuesday which will see them transition into the Junior Room which is very exciting for parents and students alike. Miss Jeffers has worked tirelessly this term to ensure Miling Mates has run smoothly and I thank her for this. Miling Mates is a highly valued program with many benefits academically and socially. Thank You I would like to thank Paul White, and Ryan and Neil Mackintosh for their help in pulling our damaged shade cloth down, taking it to Moora to get fixed and putting it back up again. Without the help of parents and community members like you, our school would not be the beautiful, inviting and caring place it is. Wil’s Words …

In the senior room I’ve been working with the 6s preparing their graduation

items. The seniors also continue to surprise me with their ability to work in teams.

Last week they showed incredible communication skills, jumping into hoops in groups

with two of the four group members blindfolded. During Game Factory the juniors

have been doing activities that challenge resilience and emotional regulation.

Students are practicing maintaining a positive and focused attitude. We also

visited the garden to see how corn pollinates itself without needing too much help

from insects. Thanks to our award winning gardener for taking care of our plants

for another year!

Just a friendly reminder with Christmas just around the corner if you are expecting large or a lot of parcels can you please pick up straight away or arrange to have someone pick them up for you. Also we are getting a large volume of mail to people unknown. If you have a new workman can you please let us know then we can put letters in your mailbox for them. Also we have the Letters to Santa mailbox in the Post Office.

One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess

created in the living room on Christmas day.

Don't clean it up too quickly!

Andy Rooney

It's true, Christmas can feel like a lot of work,

particularly for mothers. But when you look back on all

the Christmases in your life, you'll find you've created

family traditions and lasting memories. Those memories,

good and bad, are really what help to keep a family

together over the long haul.
