*Surveys…

*There had been many times where we had received feedback leading to our construction area, the first being our target audience research. Here, we had created a survey, of which 10 people had answered, to understand what the audience would like to see in our trailer. This included whether we should have flashbacks in our trailer, if our protagonist should be a male or female depending on which gender is suitable for our genre and whether we should have a dark trailer or a dark trailer with elements of light, from example some romance.

*Results…

* Beforehand, we had decided on our genre to be a psychological thriller, so in order to recreate this genre we had asked questions based on what is more suitable for this genre. We also asked what type of music would be appropriate for our trailer. At first, 70% of the audience had said instrumental music would suit our genre, however later on; this had changed when we had received feedback during our construction section.

*Focus Group…

*In our focus group interviews, we had asked why certain things would be appropriate, such as the plot (although we had changed this after much consideration). We had expanded many questions from our questionnaire to see why they had suggested those things . From this, we tried to improve our work based on the feedback we had received.

*Showcase…

*Another time where we had received feedback was from the showcase. Before the screening, we had asked the audience to focus mainly on the narrative and the music used. We found out that we needed to make the role of certain characters important. We were also told that the characters voice is not heard much in the therapist scene as the soundtrack is too loud, so we had adjusted this so that the dialogue is heard clearly. Also, we were told that instrumental music did not suit the atmosphere of the trailer, so we had challenged the conventions of thriller trailers and used a soundtrack instead. This had improved our trailer and made it more effective as the lyrics of the songs used related to the mood set.

*Final Class Feedback

*Fortunately, the audience had understood the narrative clearly, but they wanted to see more of a montage, a quick succession of cuts to increase the tension. We therefore began to film extra scenes that could be useful, mostly filler shots. Our final feedback session was great as we had made changes to our trailer, the only area we were told to focus on was smoothing out the transitions from scenes to scenes. Other than that, some of the decisions we had made prior to the showcase were great and other areas had changed and become better due to the feedback we had received.
