MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2nd

International Lateral Skull Base Workshop 2019. This course is held to share knowledge and techniques on the recent updates on lateral skull base surgeries. This course offers a wide range of hands-on training

regarding the pathologies of the ear, hearing issues, facial nerve and tumours of the

lateral skull base. We are honored to have Dr. Soekirman Soekin and **** who are known for their extensive con-tributions in neuro-otology and cochlear implants. Our pioneer neu-ro-otologist in Malaysia, Prof. Dato’ Dr Lokman Saim who is also the founder of UKM Cochlear Implant program will be also involved. Managing lateral skull base tumours also requires the experts hands of the neurosurgeons and neuro-otologist. The mutual cooperation between the ORL and neuro-surgeons are made easy by the

understanding in both specialized fields.

The fresh cadaveric dissections offer great one-to-one experience on the anatomy of the lateral skull base. With tremendous support from sponsors, we would ensure a smooth and advanced dissection

sessions.

I sincerely hope all of you will benefit from this 2-day workshop. Apart from gaining more skill and experience, it is also a platform to meet up with members of the same fraternity from all over the world.
