Medical emergencies can happen in any type of business. As

INFO KESIHATANDuduk dalam tempoh lama seperti bekerja berterusan di
pejabat, memandu kereta, menaiki penerbangan ke lokasi
jauh, menonton televisyen atau melakukan acara sukan
duduk, berisiko menyebabkan badan rasa sakit. Kajian
menunjukkan duduk dalam tempoh enam jam secara
berterusan selama 15 tahun meningkatkan 40 peratus
punca kematian berbanding individu yang duduk kurang
tiga jam. Pakar dan Felow Endokrinologi, Kolej Perubatan
Klinik Mayo, Arizona, Amerika Syarikat, Prof James A
Levine, menjelaskan duduk terlalu lama mengganggu
kesihatan individu.
Punca obesiti, darah tinggiKajian menunjukkan duduk terlalu lama
boleh menyebabkan obesiti dan
meningkatkan sindrom metabolik
seperti tekanan darah tinggi, diabetes,
lemak tepu serta kolesterol pada
sekeliling pinggang.
Ia juga meningkatkan risiko kematian
disebabkan kardiovaskular atau
penyakit kronik seperti kanser dan
pesakit jantung berisiko mengalami
serangan teruk
Teruskan senaman harianKajian mendapati pesakit jantung
yang melakukan aktiviti senaman
harian tidak terkecuali mengalami
serangan jantung lebih teruk
sekiranya mereka meluangkan masa
purata lapan jam tanpa bergerak
daripada tempat duduknya. Ia kerap
berlaku dalam kalangan lelaki dengan
purata meluangkan masa empat jam
lebih lama berbanding wanita
berikutan wanita kerap melakukan
aktiviti ringan seperti melakukan kerja
rumah
Banyak duduk, kurang cergasIndividu yang duduk dalam tempoh lama
akan menjadi gemuk dan kurang cergas
berikutan jarang melakukan senaman
(pergerakan)
Kajian terdahulu menunjukkan lelaki
berusia 60 tahun kurang melakukan
pergerakan, lebih banyak berada di
pejabat dan suka menghabiskan masa
menonton televisyen sahaja, berbeza
dengan wanita yang sering melakukan
kerja remeh secara berulang dan kuantiti
sedikit

KESAN duduk terlalu lama:
SEGERA
• Pembakaran kalori menurun setiap satu minit
• Aktiviti saraf otot tidak berfungsi
• Enzim mencegah lemak menurun sehingga 90
peratus
2 JAM
• Kolesterol baik menurun hingga 20 peratus
24 JAM
• Keberkesanan insulin menurun hingga 24
peratus dan tingkatkan risiko diabetes
• Tekanan berlebihan pada tulang belakang,
khususnya pada bahagian pinggang dan bahu.

untuk kurangkan tekanan pada
bahagian belakang badan.
Buat pergerakan setiap 30 minit.
Bangun apabila televisyen
menyiarkan iklan.
Lakukan latihan ringan ketika
menonton seperti goyangkan kaki.
Hadkan tempoh duduk dan lakukan
senaman ringan dengan kerap.
Minum lebih banyak air
