    Royal Lawns of America,

    Inc., has been in busi-

    ness for over 40 years

and is now in its second gener-

    ation. Michael Miller took

    over the Wayne-based business

from his father and has contin-

    ued to provide the community

with the same fine services that

are in tune with the environ-

    ment.

    The owner-operated,

    owner-on-site business offers

    customers the benefit of paying

one price for the whole year,

and there are no special con-

tracts. As Michael puts it: “My

    work speaks for itself.”

    He treats present prob-

    lems with methods that are

    environmentally friendly. “I’m

as close to organic as I can be,”

he said. Among the services are

    aeration, seeding, fertilizing,

    weed control, insect control,

    liming, fungus control, and

    IPM (integrated pest manage-

    ment). More detail about each

    service follows.

    Aeration:To keep your

lawn healthy, it should be aer-

ated at least twice a year. The

    Royal Lawns aeration tech-

    niques allow air, light, water

    and nutrients to penetrate your

    lawn, promoting root growth

    and helping to decompose

    organically an excessive thatch

    An interesting ques-

    tion when you think

    about it, there are

    many factors that determine

when an individual is able or

    positioned to retire. Some

    people are left powerless to

    choose as their employer

    made the decision for them

    due to a corporate buy-out,

    downsizing, relocation, merg-

    er or just simple termination.

But, for most, the days of a

    defined benefit plan (the

    actual definition of a pension

    plan with a guaranteed pay-

    ment and commencement

date) are now a distant mem-

    ory! Today, the overwhelming

    and most popular retirement

plan is called a defined contri-bution plan, where the

    employee defines the contri-

bution and where to put it.

    Commonly known as a 401k

plan, a lot of people partici-

    pate in their employer pro-

    gram, yet know very little

about it or investing in gener-

al. It is the most important

feature of a working career; to

    accumulate a retirement nest

    egg so when employment

    ceases, payments from the

    plan may replace the pay-

    check and continue for the

    rest of the former employee’s

    lifetime and if married, their

    spouses lifetime too.

    Will your 401k be

    enough? Financial industry

    studies routinely show that

the answer is NO! A good

back-up plan may be a self-funded IRA or an after-tax

    savings plan. Some people are

    “banking” on an inheritance;

    but, with more parents living

longer and the costs of doing

    so eating into their children’s

expected windfall, regardlessof a possible inheritance, each

of us needs to be financially

    prepared for retirement and a

long one at that! Is your

    expected inheritance protect-

    ed from a prolonged long-term

care stay from either of your

    parents? I must suggest that

    you and your siblings, along

with your parents and a finan-

    cial advisor get together to

    discuss this seriously urgent

    matter.

    Think about this recent

    statistic from the U.S.

    Department of Health’s web-

    site, www.longtermcare.gov,

which states that 7 out of 10

    seniors will require long-term

    care assistance and with the

    Boomer Generation which is

    turning 65 at a rate of 10,000

people a day for the next 16years this means that 7,000

    people a day, growing expo-

    nentially over the next 16

    years will require LTC assis-

tance before they die! By this

    statistic 7,000 x 365 days =

2,555,000 people over thenext 12 months will require

    LTC help. Multiply that over

just the next 5 years =

    12,775,000 people will have a

    long-term care expense. Board

    and Care facilities (nursing

    homes) in Northern NJ cur-

    rently average $125,000

    annually, according to a

    recent Genworth Insurance

    Company study. Looking at

    this statistic and assuming

    that your parents have

    longevity and assets, with a

    70% chance of needing care

    and the average LTC facility

stay just under 3 years, not

    accounting for inflation, the

    probable bill would amount to

    $375,000 per parent. Can

    they afford that? Can you

afford to lose that much of

    your “retirement inheri-tance?”

    Medicaid doesn’t chip in

    for facility care until Medicare

is exhausted after 100 days or

    sooner if the patient’s health

    cannot be regained and they

are designated as “custodial”and no longer rehabilitative.

    Medicaid won’t pay unless the

    family assets are spent-down

to poverty level in order to

    become eligible. It’s this

    “spend-down” period that

    awakens children, but, by

then it’s too late to be proac-

tive. The child or children are

    typically the Power of

    Attorney and deplete Dad and

    Mom’s portfolio/estate to pay

    for their parents’ care. Having

been in this business for over

    33 years, I’ve witnessed this

    “spend-down tragedy” far too

many times, as plans for a

    legacy, bequest and other best

    intentions were buried before

    the parents died, because the

    children were forced to use

    their parents money to pay

the nursing home/homehealth care bills that ran into

    the hundreds of thousands of

    dollars.

    So now let’s bring this

story back to you, where you

are the parent and not the

    child: have you prepared for

    this 70% statistical eventuali-

ty of LTC needs and expenses,

    did you segregate a current

    value of $375,000 of your

    401k or retirement portfolio

    for this purpose? While work-

    ing, perhaps you had disability

    insurance to protect your pay-

check in the event you could

    not work due to a disability;

when you are retired or think-

    ing about retiring, shouldn’t

you prepare to have the same

    “paycheck protection” from

    either a long-term care claim

or if the bottom falls-out of

    the stock market? Doesn’t

everyone need paycheck pro-tection, especially when your

    retirement portfolio that gen-

    erates your monthly “pay-

check” is finite? I certainly do

    and would encourage you to

    discuss this subject of such

    major financial importance

    with your spouse, your sib-

    lings, your kids and whomever

    you derive financial advice

and guidance from. If you are

    not thrilled with your finan-

cial advisor or don’t have one,

I would like to apply for that

    honorable position, with no

cost or obligation to you. This

    subject matter is just too

    important to ignore or put-off

    any longer! You are the

    “youngest and healthiest” you

    will ever be, right now.

    Something might happen

with your health to compro-mise your ability to purchase

    insurance coverage if you

    delay any longer. Just last

week a client called me to

    increase his life insurance

    because his friend dropped

dead of a heart attack at a

    family gathering, he was only

30, married with 4 kids and

    had ZERO life insurance.

    Please don’t allow procrasti-

nation to be a lethal weapon

    against you and your family’s

    financial future. Your legacy is

worth more than that and so

    is your family’s memory of

    how you provided for them!

    layer more rapidly.

    Re-Seeding: Areas of the

    lawn that have been damaged

or neglected can be renewed byre-seeding. “We use quality dis-

    ease-resistant blends of blue-

    grass, fescue, and rye grasses

    especially selected for your

    lawn’s environment, improving

    the appearance and density of

your turf. This, in turn, helps

    inhibit weed growth,” said

    Michael.

     Fertilizer (granular): A

    thriving lawn requires proper-

    ly timed applications of com-

    plete, balanced, slow-release

    fertilizers to replace essential

    nutrients taken from the soil.

    The fertilizers used by Royal

    Lawns are designed to feed

your lawn from one service to

the next, and there is no surge

    growth or burning – just

    steady greening and a thicker,

    more beautiful lawn.

    Liming: The application

    of lime increases the granula-

tion of soil, improving its phys-

ical structure and air-to-waterratio, helping your lawn toler-

    ate drought conditions. Liming

    increases the availability of

    many plant nutrients, making

    fertilizers more effective and

helping to reduce weeds by cre-

    ating conditions more favor-

    able to grass growth.

     Fungus control: Since

    fungus problems are derived

    mostly from weather condi-

    tions, maintaining a strong

    lawn through treatment,

    watering and proper mowing

    makes your lawn more natural-

    ly resistant to fungus problems.

    However, in appropriate condi-

tions, fungicides may be used to

    help reduce damage caused by

    cell deterioration from fungus.

    Growing up, I was

    probably the biggest

    liar in the world. I

    lied, cheated and stole almost

    compulsively. I lied so much,

in fact, that to this day, I’m

    really not sure what memories

    actually occurred and which

were fantasy. For example, if I

didn’t have a photo of myself

    standing on the field at

    Yankee Stadium hanging in

    my basement, I probably

wouldn’t even know if I had

actually tried out for the New

    York Yankees. Often times,

my sisters talk about the past,

but I just can’t seem to

    remember the memories they

    speak of.

    My lies became a totally

separate reality for me. I won-

der sometimes, Why did I lie

    so much? What happened in

my childhood that led me to

create a fantasy life for myself?

I guess it all comes back to the

    “woe is me” syndrome. An

    attention-seeker runs on

    attention like cars run on

gasoline. If I didn’t get my

    attention fix, I felt worthless.

Because I felt like my life was

    not interesting enough to

    please my family, my friends,

and anyone else I came in

contact with, I made up what

I thought was a better version

of me. It would be easy for me

    to blame others, who never

    paid much attention to me,

but ultimately I am the one

who made the choice of creat-

    ing another me.

    I still can’t believe some

of the stuff I did for attention,

or just to make myself feel

    more important.

    Think about it…

Are you who you say you

    are or merely the fantastical

    creation of your own mind?

Maybe you are the creation of

    someone else. I truly believe

we are born with a purpose

and that we should seek that

purpose in order for us to

    attain that “sweet spot” that

    makes life exciting and worth

    living!

As a little girl I loved

    Easter. What’s not

    to love? My sister

and I always got a new

“Easter outfit” which includ-ed a frilly dress of our choos-

    ing, lacy socks, shiny new

    patent leather mary janes, a

    hat and even little white

    gloves. No, I’m not nearing

80, that’s just the way my

    mom wanted to do things.

    Coloring enough eggs to

    exhaust a barnyard of chick-

    ens, we were artistic genius-

es. The night before the big

day we’d be filled with but-

    terflies of anticipation for

    the beautiful, loaded basket

    that giant rabbit would drop

off in exchange for the large

carrot left as an offering of

    gratitude…and yes, we

    believed!

    Up at dawn, we’d mar-

    vel at the lovely loot

bestowed upon us and eat a

    few pieces of candy before

    breakfast. Church was fun

because we got to show off

our new clothes and find outhow much the Big Bunny

    liked other kids.

    Off to Grandma’s house

for Easter egg hunts until the

    last adult finally said no

    more. Aunts, uncles, cousins

    and grandparents sat down to

a table laden with what we

    now call comfort food.

    Throughout the day we were

    depleting our stash as the

    marshmallow peeps, choco-

    late bunnies, jelly beans and

    malted milk eggs were con-

    sumed.

    Um…and there was

    something about Jesus. Any

    of this sounding familiar?

    I’m not one to condemn

    any tradition that results in

    family togetherness and

    forming sweet memories, but

    perhaps there’s a better way. I

    realize now that the Easter

    celebration I grew up with

was all about me: my appear-ance, my stash of goodies,

    and my fun day.

    Honestly, it’s still all

    about me…at least that’s

    what Jesus would say. He

    lived in our challenging,

    abusive, hurt-filled world for

me. He died a brutal death,

at the hands of hateful peo-

    ple for me. He defeated

    death and lives on, for

    me. Romans 5:8 says, “But

    God demonstrates His love

for us in this: While we were

    still sinners, Christ died

    for us.”

    For those who love the

    fun family traditions like I

    grew up with, maybe there

could be two days of Easter

Easter is on the way, and

    practicing Christians

    across the globe have

    spent the Lenten season

    preparing for the day when

    they celebrate the resurrection

of Jesus Christ. Lent is a season

best spent in the company of

    close friends and family, and

the following are a few ways for

    Christians to celebrate their

faith in the weeks leading up to

    Easter Sunday.

    Give Easter eggs a differ-

    ent meaning. Easter eggs are

    popular among youngsters,

    and that popularity can be

used to teach kids about their

    faith. Eggs are frequently

viewed as a symbol of new life,

so parents can use them to

    show their children how

    Christ died and was born

anew. Eggs can be filled with

    small items that symbolize

    something related to Christ’s

story. Or they can be left

    empty to represent the empty

    tomb after His resurrection.

    Eat food that conveys

    Biblical stories. For Easter din-

ner, enjoy foods that are men-

tioned in the Bible. A fish din-

ner can convey the story of

    how Jesus multiplied fish to

feed the crowds, or dine on

lamb and share the story of

    Passover.

    Participate in church

    services. Throughout Lent,

    many parishes offer Easter vig-

    ils or specialized services that

relate the account of Jesus’ life

    and subsequent death on the

    cross. Some churches may

    recreate realistic stations of the

    Cross. Employing pageantry to

bring biblical stories to life can

    help young children visualize

    and better understand the

    meaning of Easter.

    Create a Christ-centered

    Easter basket. Parents can still

    fill kids’ Easter baskets with

    some of the familiar confec-

    tionary treats, but those parents

    who impart lessons about their

faith to their kids also can

    include books about the story

of Easter, rosary beads, a cruci-

fix for a child’s room, and

    maybe a children’s Bible.

    Make time for volunteer

    work. Many families reserve

    volunteerism for the Christmas

season, but Easter also marks a

great time to volunteer. In a

    Every year Jewish peo-

    ple celebrate Passover,

    a commemoration of

    the liberation of the Jews

    from slavery under Egyptianleaders.

    Religious texts tell that

    God helped the children of

    Israel escape slavery in Egypt

    with the assistance of Moses

    and 10 plagues. Israelites were

    employed as slaves to build

    new monuments to Egypt’s

    far-reaching power. Moses

    was the adopted brother of

the Pharaoh at the time.Moses had fled the palace

    years earlier due to disillu-

    sionment over his Egyptian

upbringing and his ties to the

    Israelite slaves.

    One evening Moses was

contacted by God via a burn-

ing bush that would not be

    consumed by fire. God called

    out to Moses and commis-

sioned him to lead theIsraelites out of Egypt after

    hearing their pleas and wit-

    nessing their suffering.

    Moses asked God to

    choose another for the mis-

    sion, but the Lord was

    adamant. Moses set out to

    speak to Pharaoh, but was

    unsuccessful in his efforts. It

    was then that God helped

    Moses’ effort by inflicting the

10 Plagues, also referred to as

    the Biblical Plagues in the

    Christian bible. The plagues

    were designed to contrast the

    overwhelming power of the

    Israelite God from the impor-

    tance of the Egyptian gods.

    One of the plagues

    occurred when God turned

    the Nile River’s water into

    blood. He also brought on

hordes of frogs, lice and flies.

    God brought pestilence to

    Egyptian livestock and then

    boils to Egyptian people.

    Plagues of hail, locusts and

    darkness followed. When

    these efforts did not produce

    the freedom sought by the

    Israelites, God said he would

    go through Egypt and all

    of the firstborn sons of

    the Egyptians, including

    Pharaoh’s own son, would

    perish. Moses was informed to

    tell the Israelites to mark

    their own doors with lamb’s

blood so that the Lord would

    pass over these homes and

    spare the Israelites’ children

    from harm.

    This final plague devas-

    tated the Egyptian people and

proved so horrific as to war-

    rant the freedom of the

    Israelite slaves. Pharaoh freed

them, and Moses led them all

on a mass exodus from Egypt.

    Passover, or Pesach, is first

    mentioned in the Torah’s

account of the Exodus fromEgypt. The word “pesach” is

    believed to mean “he hovered

    over, guarding,” which is the

    image evoked by the retelling

    of the Passover story.

    Today there are many

    Passover traditions that date

    back to early history. Jewish

people may dine on lamb or

goat meat in memory of the

    lambs sacrificed. All forms of

leavened bread or leaveningagents (chametz) are avoided

    as the fleeing Israelite slaves

had no leavened bread to take

    with them on their journey.

Homes are cleared of all leav-

    ening agents. Firstborn sons

    are commanded to observe

    the Fast of the Firstborn.

    Passover Seder feasts are

    enjoyed, and men and

    women drink four cups of

wine during the meal. Homesare made Kosher for the pur-

pose of the holiday, and a

    separate set of Passover dish-

    es, glassware and silverware

    that have never touched

    chametz are used.

    Games, songs and tradi-

tional readings are all part of

    the Passover celebration,

which lasts for seven or eight

days depending on the area of

the world in which it is beingobserved. Historically, togeth-

    er with Shavuot and Sukkot,

    Passover completes the trio of

    the pilgrimage festivals of the

     Jewish people.

    There’s another great

    debate about the feline

    as a pet besides the

    declawing issue. This great

    debate concerns allowing the

    feline to roam outdoors versus

    living indoors. Should you

allow your cat to roam out-

    doors? Let’s find out.

    Outdoor Felines

    Cats are essentially wild

    creatures, and they have always

    loved the outdoors. What

    feline owner hasn’t watched his

cat loll in a patch of sunshine

on a winter day, or roll con-

tentedly in the dirt in its own

backyard? Cats do love the sun-

    shine, the outdoors, and the

    fresh air. However, outdoor cats

    are susceptible to more dis-

    eases, more injuries, and more

    health problems.

Outdoor cats may tusslewith other cats, catch parasites

or other diseases, or be hit by a

car or caught by other preda-

tors. They can also be poisoned

    by pesticides, antifreeze left

    unattended or other toxins.

    They can cause problems with

    neighbors by using their yards

as a cat box. Outdoor cats sim-

ply aren’t as safe as indoor cats.

    Indoor Felines

    Indoor cats live longer,

    healthier lives. Studies prove it

    and common sense dictates it.

    Indoor cats have many advan-

tages outdoor cats can’t hope to

have. Outdoor cats live on an

average of 3 to 5 years, while

indoor cats live an average of

12 years or more. My last

indoor cats lived to be 19 andnearly 21.

    Indoor cats enjoy safety

    and comfort. They are safe

    from diseases that feral cats

    may carry and outdoor cats

pick up. They are safe from cat

    fights, cars, and predators.

    And, indoor cats won’t harm

other wildlife, such as birds and

    small animals.

    Alternatives

    There are many alterna-

    tives to the outdoor lifestyle.

    When kittens first come home,

they should be kept indoors. If

    your cats miss their outdoor

    excursions, you might try to

train them to wear a harness

and walk on a leash. They will

still be able to enjoy the out-

doors, but much more safely.Another alternative is to

create a safe outdoor area or

run where the cats can go out-

side but cannot escape the area.

    There are many outdoor runs

available now that connect to a

cat door and allow the cat

access to a run on a patio or in

    a backyard.

You can also allow the cat

outdoors on a patio or deck

when you are outdoors, andonly for a short time. Or, you

can use a carrier to take your

kitty for walks in the sunshine.

    Keeping kitty indoors will

keep it healthy, happy, and free

    of infectious diseases it might

    catch outside. Each pet owner

is responsible for his own pet’s

    health and well-being. Keeping

kitty inside is the choice that

    makes sense.

    Bottled Water

A four-year study by the Natural Resources Defense Council shows that 1/3 of the bottled water

tested contains levels of contamination which exceed allowable limits. Bottled water can alsobe slightly acidic, which may affect your body’s pH balance. Finally, the environmental impact

caused by the production and disposal of plastic bottles is harmful to our ecosystem.

    Tap Water

Tap water is a healthier option than soft drinks and other beverages, but according to the

Environmental Working Group, there have been 315 pollutants found in America’s tap water

since 2004, and over half of these pollutants are completely unregulated and can legally existin any amount.

    Reverse Osmosis and Distilled Water

Reverse Osmosis and Distilling are filtering processes, which removes healthy, naturally

occurring minerals in our water. These minerals not only provide good taste, they also serve a

vital function in the healthy balance of our bodies. When stripped of these minerals, this waterbecomes unnatural and an aggressive absorber. This can be quite unhealthy. Also, 2 - 3 gallonsof water are wasted for every gallon of purified water produced; again, a very negative impact

    on our environment and ecosystem.

To find out what we found out, have your water

tested for free, and ask how to get your

21 day FREE trial of healthy water.

     Is Sclerotherapy a solution for

    Spider Veins?

“The vein treatment I received was great. I am very happy with the  procedures done on my legs. I wish I had done this earlier.”

    –Zofia Pawlowski

The Very Best in Non-Surgical ProceduresAt ACP Vein Treatment Center in Wayne, we treat venous

diseases in men and women with painless, minimally invasive vascular

therapies. The most common of these include treatments for

varicose veins and spider veins. These conditions are progressive

diseases that can develop into serious medical issues, including

discoloration and ulceration. Our new ACP Vein Center in Wayne isdedicated entirely to the diagnosis and treatment of vein disorders.

    YES!

    Spider veins are

    cherry red, or bluish

    in color, and occur

    more commonly on

the legs, sometimes on the arms,

and occasionally on the face. They

    are thin and thread-like, measuring

1-2 mm in diameter, and generally

appear in a linear pattern, a branch-

like pattern, or a spider pattern.

These veins are not painful, and usu-

ally are a cosmetic issue only.

A treatment option for these prob-

    lematic veins is Sclerotherapy. In

    order to understand how scle-

rotherapy works, it is important to

    understand how pressure on the

    veins causes vein swelling. This

    pressure hinders the blood from

    being able to successfully pass

through it. So, the walls of the vein

swell (thus making them stand out

    from the leg).

    It is estimated that approximately

half of all adult women are affected

by spider veins. Treatment helps im-

    prove your skin’s appearance, cre-

    ating a more uniform, unblemished

look. Sclerotherapy is a simple of-

    fice procedure that can eliminate

unsightly spider veins in your legs.

At the new ACP Vein Center, Scle-

rotherapy is one of our most popu-

    lar treatments for removing spider

    veins. It involves injecting problem

veins on the legs with a ster ile solu-

tion that irritates the lining of the

blood vessel and makes the prob-

lem vein go away. This is a minimally

    invasive procedure that rarely re-

quires any anesthetic, and can be

performed in our office. A session

will usually take about 30 minutes,

depending on the number of veins

to be treated. Sclerotherapy is most

    often used on small-to medium-

    sized veins.

    The seasons can be

    harsh on homes, and

    perhaps no season is

more taxing on a home’s exte-

    rior than winter. Harsh winter

weather can take a toll on

    roofs, gutters, landscaping,

and just about any other part

of the home that must face the

cold head-on. The followingare a few areas of your home

    that might need some help

    rebounding from winter now

    that spring has finally arrived.

    Gutters: Gutters are vul-

    nerable to winter weather, as

    strong winds may blow debris

into the gutters or even blow

the gutters off of the house.

    Gutters should be cleaned

    prior to and immediately after

    winter to ensure they’re work-

    ing properly and not backing

up to the point that water can

build up and damage the roof.

    Reattach any loose gutters and

clear them of any debris left

    behind by winter winds.

Roof: The roof is anoth-er area of your home’s exterior

    that may have been beaten

    down over the winter.

    Examine the roof for cracked,

    missing or deformed shingles

that can allow water to enter a

    home and damage its interior.

    Some roof damage is visible

    from the ground, but home-

    owners who just endured espe-

    cially harsh winters may want

to climb up on their roofs or

hire a professional to get a

    closer look. Another way to

determine if the roof was dam-

aged is to go into your attic

    and check for water damage

    near roof trusses. Water dam-

age indicates something wentawry over the winter.

    Walkways and drive-

    ways: Heavy snowfall or sig-

    nificant accumulation of ice

over the winter can result in

    cracked or damaged walkways,

    driveways and porches. Some

    of this damage may have

resulted from aggressive shov-eling or breaking up of ice.

Look for any cracks in areas

    that needed shoveling over

the winter, as such cracks can

    be safety hazards and may

even prove to be entry pointsinto your home for water or

    critters.

    Landscaping: Landscap-

ing also tends to take a hit in

    areas that experience harsh

winters. Winter storms maydamage trees, which can put a

home right in the line of

    falling limbs or worse. Walk

    around your property to

    inspect for tree damage,

    removing any fallen limbs or

    cutting down any limbs that

appear dead or that mighteventually prove a safety haz-

    ard. In addition, check the

grass for any dead spots that

    might have fallen victim to

    winter freeze, and address

    those spots when the time

    comes to revitalize your lawn.

Appliances: When sur-veying your property after a

    long winter, inspect appliances

    like a central air conditioning

unit or even dryer vents to

    make sure they made it

    through the winter unscathed.

    Such appliances may have

proven an attractive nestingspot for animals over the win-

ter, but damage can be signifi-

cant if vermin or other ani-

    mals seek shelter from winter

    weather inside appliances.

    22/28

season that focuses on the ulti-

    mate sacrifice, families can

    open their hearts to others.

    Invite someone over for Easter

dinner who has nowhere to go.

    Share your holiday celebra-

tions with a person of another

faith so that he or she may be

able to see what makes this

time of year special. Create a

    service jar filled with small,

    loving tasks everyone in the

family can do each day.The Lenten season,

    including Easter, is the most

celebrated time of the year for

    Christians. Families can enjoy

    the festivities by blending

    many different traditions

    together and by focusing on

    the spirituality of the season.

    celebrations. Perhaps Good

    Friday or even on Saturday,

we could spend a little time

    remembering our Lord who

brought each of us so much

    more than a wicker basketful

    of colored sugar. We could

    deliberately try to relate to

     Jesus by recalling our own

    (comparably shallow) experi-

    ences of pain and sacrifice

    for others. We could spend

    some time being still, soak-

    ing in God’s eternal expres-

    sion of love that encom-

    passed the very first Easter.

    “Oh, give thanks to the

    LORD! Call upon His name;

    Make known His deeds

    among the peoples! ...” Psalm

105:1. We could write Him a

    sincere letter of thanks. We

could teach our kids to draw a

    picture or use other artistic

    methods to create a gift

    expressing grateful hearts.

    Our wonderful God

    doesn’t want us to throw

    away fun times or eliminate

    lasting traditions or replace

    them with a stiff, obligatory

religious ritual. He loves tosee us smile, hug and enjoy

    treats. But I believe He’d

delight even more in the way

    our spirits would respond to

    an intentional interlude

    basking in His presence. Not

for His sake because Easter is

    all about us. www.cbn.com
